orphans

Re: the orphans question from yesterday, orphans are indeed about the number of incoming wikilinks to an article. Requirements for getting rid of "orphan" status generally range of 1 to 3; less than 3 is the definition of orphan used by WP:ORPHAN, I think. But in any case, FAIR USE Act looks to be in good shape for both cats and incoming links. Thanks for helping that student!--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 14:25, 23 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, I had a blank moment when I answered that, but I did have a quick look at the article, and as I told the person asking the question, the article can be taken off the orphan list as there are more than enough links. Thanks so much for the reminder. SMasters (talk) 03:01, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Re:Talk:The Stanley Clarke Band/GA1

I want to give you a quick thank you for reviewing the article. I'll let you know when it's ready for a second look. Take care, J04n(talk page) 09:14, 24 March 2011 (UTC)

OK, do alert me when it's ready. Cheers. – SMasters (talk) 09:20, 24 March 2011 (UTC)
I believe I addressed your concerns. I'm glad for your comments on "the band" section, I like it much better now. Take care, J04n(talk page) 01:49, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Fantastic! Thanks for taking the time to review the article and the great tips to improve it. Also thanks for expanding the lead (I'm always to brief and dull in leads). J04n(talk page) 03:32, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
No problems. You might want to read WP:LEAD for more insights. And congrats again. – SMasters (talk) 03:34, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for the review and for letting me know! Glad you enjoyed the article as well. Best, Toдor Boжinov 10:30, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Well done, it was an enjoyable review. :-) – SMasters (talk) 16:55, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

I think that the article looks good and checks out now. Thanks for reviewing, CrowzRSA 02:31, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

I have added additional comments. Thanks. – SMasters (talk) 06:36, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Horror Coord. Election page.

Hey. I was wondering if you had time, would you be able to check out our election page. I know it's probably not very good nor the right time, but it may help with recruitment. In anycase, it's not a set-in-stone thing at the moment. Thanks, --Tærkast (Communicate) 20:23, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Hey Tærkast, all looks good to me. Good luck with this! – SMasters (talk) 02:07, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

WP Wikify

Good job with the teaser on this week's article. -Mabeenot (talk) 20:19, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Ah, I wasn't sure if you were around or if you forgot about it so I gave it a stab. Do change it if you can think of something better. Thanks! – SMasters (talk) 02:11, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Triple crown

Just have a quick question. I already have one triple crown, and just earned my second. When I do the nomination, do I have to dig up the information for the first one? Some of these diffs may go back a few years. :) Or do I just do the newest one? Thanks. OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 01:59, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Duh. I just needed to read the directions. I need to put in everything. This isn't easy.  :( OrangeMarlin Talk• Contributions 02:12, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Jokes

Two jokes- Lawyer: I have some good news and some bad news.
Client: Well, give me the bad news first.
Lawyer: The bad news is that the DNA tests showed that it was your blood they found all over the crime scene.
Client: Oh no! I'm ruined! What's the good news?
Lawyer: The good news is your cholesterol is down to 130!

Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. Getting back together, they discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother. The first said, "I built a big house for our mother." The second said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third smiled and said, "I've got you both beat. You remember how mom enjoyed reading the Bible? And you know she can't see very well. So I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took elders in the church 12 years to teach him. He's one of a kind. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse, and the parrot recites it."

Soon thereafter, mom sent out her letters of thanks: "Milton," she wrote one son, "The house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house."

"Gerald," she wrote to another, "I am too old to travel. I stay most of the time at home, so I rarely use the Mercedes. And the driver is so rude!"

"Dearest Donald," she wrote to her third son, "You have the good sense to know what your mother likes. The chicken was delicious." --Ankit Maity | Talkcontribs 15:36, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Council

I've noticed you've started it. A major area they assist with is the startup of new WikiProjects and task forces. Perhaps there could be something on that? Simply south...... 16:59, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your advise. I have changed one of the questions to include this. Cheers. – SMasters (talk) 17:08, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

I appreciate the invitation to participate but frankly aside from a few comments I don't have much involvement in the WikiProject Council. --Kumioko (talk) 18:09, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

No problems. I invited the most active participants from this list, who also have recent contributions. Maybe another time then. :-) – SMasters (talk) 18:33, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi,

I was just in last week's Signpost for WikiProject Medicine. If you can't get a third person, I'm willing to help you out, but if someone else steps up to the plate, then I'd be happy to let him or her be interviewed instead. WhatamIdoing (talk) 01:01, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
