Response - Your query on my changes to "Sri Bhagavan"

Hello Regarding your query on some changes done on "Sri Bhagavan" "Sri Bhagavan" is the name of an Indian spiritual master. This is the official name used by his school and also his legal name. On Wiki, he has been listed under his nickname "Kalki Bhagavan" that some of his students use to address him. The plan is to move the page "Kalki Bhagavan" to "Sri Bhagavan". But, found that "Sri Bhagavan" is being redirected to "Bhagavan". So, removed the redirect on "sri Bhagavan" to see if the move on "Kalki Bhagavan" will work. But, since it did not work, have "undone" the changes. Appreciate your input on how I can get this move done. Prodigyhk (talk) 13:49, 11 December 2012 (UTC)

Removal of Oxathiazolone content

The oxathiazolone page was created as a project to compile information on the compound for our organic chemistry course. However, on submission of the completed product, our professor requested that we remove the content as it was strewn with both content and citation errors, and since it largely referenced works that he had published,it appeared as he had been the creator of the error strewn page.
I am new to wiki editing / creation and was only aware of the "edit summary" option after removing the content from the site.. my apologies.. i have since submitted a summary as to the reason content was removed. Content may be restored in an accurate fashion at a later date, with proper citation. Again, this removal of content was not done in error, and I appreciate your acknowledgement and concern.

Hi CU-Chem2015. While I appreciate your attempts to keep the article accurate, you should be careful to ensure that you do not delete content that already existed prior to your additions. You can do this by going to the history tab of an article, comparing the revision prior to your edit revision, clicking "Compare selected revisions", then on the next screen clicking "edit" next to the old revision. Please take a look at the referencing page. You also really need to make sure that the material is actually encyclopedic; as it stands right now, it really isn't using a neutral point of view (e.g. phrases like "will always be a respected group of enlightened individuals" are not balanced). Delete

I had not finished my entry and it would have had a citation. My source is Bobby Baldwin and James Goody Roy. Your article, like most doesn't talk about some of the true great gamblers who played cash games. Ask Bobby or Doyle what they think of James Goody Roy. He is in Cowboy's book, Amarillo Slim's and Doyle's latest and mentioned on ESPN by Doyle. However, he will remain largely unknown thanks to you deleting my contribution in two seconds. Look at the picture of the first world series of poker in Doyle's book, James and Carolyn Roy are the striking couple in the center. Read Amarillo's passage about Goody breaking him and how he did it many times. Tournament playing is different than cash games. Your focus on this leaves the real story of how these men made their living and the kind of player they had to be untold. If you could only play tournaments, you would go broke. I will bow out now. WikiCup 2013 February newsletter

Round 1 is now over. The top 64 scorers have progressed to round 2, where they have been randomly split into eight pools of eight. At the end of April, the top two from each pool, as well as the 16 highest scorers from those remaining, will progress to round 3. Commiserations to those eliminated; if you're interested in still being involved in the WikiCup, able and willing reviewers will always be needed, and if you're interested in getting involved with other collaborative projects, take a look at the WikiWomen's Month discussed below.

Round 1 saw 21 competitors with over 100 points, which is fantastic; that suggests that this year's competition is going to be highly competative. Our lower scores indicate this, too: A score of 19 was required to reach round 2, which was significantly higher than the 11 points required in 2012 and 8 points required in 2011. The score needed to reach round 3 will be higher, and may depend on pool groupings. In 2011, 41 points secured a round 3 place, while in 2012, 65 was needed. Our top three scorers in round 1 were:

  1. Colorado Sturmvogel_66 (submissions), primarily for an array of warship GAs.
  2. London Miyagawa (submissions), primarily for an array of did you knows and good articles, some of which were awarded bonus points.
  3. New South Wales Casliber (submissions), due in no small part to Canis Minor, a featured article awarded a total of 340 points. A joint submission with Alaska Keilana (submissions), this is the highest scoring single article yet submitted in this year's competition.

Featured topics have still played no part in this year's competition, but once again, a curious contribution has been offered by British Empire The C of E (submissions): did you know that there is a Shit Brook in Shropshire? With April Fools' Day during the next round, there will probably be a good chance of more unusual articles...

March sees the WikiWomen's History Month, a series of collaborative efforts to aid the women's history WikiProject to coincide with Women's History Month and International Women's Day. A number of WikiCup participants have already started to take part. The project has a to-do list of articles needing work on the topic of women's history. Those interested in helping out with the project can find articles in need of attention there, or, alternatively, add articles to the list. Those interested in collaborating on articles on women's history are also welcome to use the WikiCup talk page to find others willing to lend a helping hand. Another collaboration currently running is an an effort from WikiCup participants to coordinate a number of Easter-themed did you know articles. Contributions are welcome!

A few final administrative issues. From now on, submission pages will need only a link to the article and a link to the nomination page, or, in the case of good article reviews, a link to the review only. See your submissions' page for details. This will hopefully make updating submission pages a little less tedious. He does not have an advanced degree. He is not a profiler. Their are only 13 people in the USA who can LEGITIMATELY claim to be profilers. Hi. I probably would've been better leaving you with a different message referring to this part of the verifiability guidelines. You added two external URLs as references: a (presumably official) Facebook page, and a BlogSpot article. Per the verifiability guidelines these are generally to be avoided, and in the blog's case it is also a reference that has been published by the subject themselves. The Facebook link would probably be suitable in an "external links" section for that article (per the external links policy). I hope that helps.
