Welcome![edit]

Hello, Rysiekzklanu, Welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope you like working here and want to continue. If you need help on how to name new articles, look at the Guide to layout, and for help on formatting the pages visit the Manual of Style. If you need general help, look at Help and the FAQ, and if you can't find your answer there, check the Village pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and the Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal — and if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my New-Users' Talk Page.

Additional tips:
Here are some extra tips to help you get around Wikipedia:
  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills, try the Sandbox.
  • Click on the Edit button on a page, and look at how other editors did what they did.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like this: ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Always sign comments on Talk pages, never sign Articles.
  • You might want to add yourself to the New User Log
  • If your first language isn't English, try Wikipedia:Contributing to articles outside your native language
  • Full details on Wikipedia style can be found in the Manual of Style.
Happy editing!

Images[edit]

You've up-loaded a number of images for which you've added no copyright information; your use of them at Nowy Sacz mentioned that they are copyrighted by their photographers. I'm afraid that this means that they can't be used on Wikipedia (I've removed them from the article). If you can get permission to use them under Wikipedia conditions (see Wikipedia:Copyrights), then they can be replaced. I haven't yet listed them as possible copyright violations, in order to give you a chance to sort matters out. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:14, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Also, please don't remove tags like "copyedit" unless the work has been done. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:09, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Replacing copyrighted images (and removing the "copyedit" tag) is now looking more like vandalism than good-faith editing. It is imperative that you not place copyright material in Wikipedia, as it could lay us open to legal action. As you haven't had the courtesy to respond to me, I shall now place the images at the copyright-problems page. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 18:25, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Hello! You left a message at my page consisting only of the header "Misunderstanding"; what is it that you haven't understood — I'll try to explain if I can. (By the way, Image:Dunajectropie.jpg also needs a copyright tag.) Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 20:50, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Thank you for replying. I'm surprised that you found my initial mesages anything but friendly and polite; I susect that that might be the result of problems with English. I hope that things will continue pleasantly now.

In answer to your question, by the way: I think that you'd write a much better article in Polish on Oxford than I would, even though I know Oxford first-hand — especially as Wikipedia doesn't allow original research. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:22, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Image Tagging Image:Vaclav.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Vaclav.gif. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Could you add a tag to let us know its copyright status? (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. --Tagishsimon (talk) 12:49, 6 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Ratuszsadecki.JPG has been listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file you uploaded, Image:Ratuszsadecki.JPG, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you.

Image Tagging for Image:Ratusznowysacz.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ratusznowysacz.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Domgotycki.jpg)[edit]

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Domgotycki.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 21:19, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
