This article explaining the origins, political history, and legacy of the American Black Panther party is quite strong and extensive. However, in terms of possible improvements to the article, I feel that the segment about the foreign implications of the party in countries such as Germany and other European nations distracted from the overall theme and purpose of the article. As, the correlation between the Black Panther Party ideology and the listed European liberal movements of the 20th century are not proven and are murky at best. Therefore, it is my contention that the foreign impact section of this page is not relevant to the extended definition of the African-American Black Panther Party. Furthermore, I would endorse the addition of a clarification that the Marvel character, Black Panther, is in now way connected or representative of this political party. In further elaboration, many modern people have made the assumption following the Marvel characters appearance on the big screen, that the character's name originated from the American Black Panther movement; however, the two institutions harbor no connection with one another. Therefore, as a means of improving the article, this clarifying addition could help the article better appeal to and educate modern readers. Lastly, despite my aforementioned critiques, I feel this article is masterfully done and tells the history, impact, and motifs of the Black Panther Party in extraordinary fashion.Rxabdallah (talk) 04:00, 3 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
