Divine Word
[edit]Hi, I spent a few minutes working on your articles on Divine Word. Thanks for submitting the info, however as the material was taken from a magazine article we can't use it here. Maybe in the future you could submit a shorter piece on Divine Word. See the other PNG university pages for ideas. Thanks, -- JJay 06:23, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Pngarnet
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pngarnet, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Pngarnet. Gromlakh (talk) 04:16, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
I have nominated Pngarnet, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pngarnet. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. A tag has been placed on PNGARNET requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Terrillja (talk) 02:10, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at PNGARNET. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.
Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.
If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. Terrillja (talk) 02:11, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hello! I will be able to rewrite this for you later this week -- I am traveling at the moment and cannot give it the time it deserves, but I promise to have a new article up for you by week's end. Thanks. Ecoleetage (talk) 02:53, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- The problem is that when there are COI issues, rewriting the article will not remove those issues. If the project is notable, it will be covered sooner or later, but writing an article about your own project or website is frowned upon.--Terrillja (talk) 02:56, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but your statement is not correct. If I rewrite it, there are no COI issues since I have no involvement with this project -- I've never been to Papua New Guinea and I don't know the individual who created this now-deleted stub. In fact, I never heard of this program until I stumbled in here. Plus, I plan to include proper referencing (which this entry lacked). Keep an eye open -- the article will soon be back as a Wiki-worthy addition! :) Ecoleetage (talk) 17:19, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
- I was going by an edit summary that saud something to the effect of "I am the webmaster of the site and will be adding references soon". Perhaps I was mistaken. Either way, be sure to have everything in the article before you create it, including refs which meet WP:GNG, since the article was deleted by AFD once and once by speedy deletion, so editors will probably have less leniency than if it was the first time that the article was written.--Terrillja (talk) 17:33, 20 October 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you for the advice -- I appreciate your interest in ensuring that new articles meet Wikipedia standards. And I hope you will check out the new article when it is completed -- it will be my 186th article published on Wikipedia. :) Ecoleetage (talk) 19:37, 20 October 2008 (UTC)
