This is so unnecessary. Acabashi? Did you even LOOK at the blog? My blog has my name as its address, my picture, dozens of followers, and years worth of writing to establish that I exist. So all you had to establish is that I put the post here as an article. A simple thing that could have been done easily and quickly. This position supposes that another person, using my name, has possibly registered as a user on Wikipedia and then used my blog without permission, possibly violating copyright laws... and then risking the whole dastardly plot being exposed during this editing process, so that nothing comes of any of this afternoon of work. There is no such idiot. And so what if "he" had? This is all free! Am I going to sue somebody for "stealing" free information on my blog? I gave it up when I wrote and posted it! You guys are making this harder than it has to be, by eliminating common sense from the equation. It's a good thing Wikipedia is worth it.

Your request for advice[edit]

Hello! I saw you'd asked for advice, so hopefully this will help to clarify.

As to the copyright question, we unfortunately cannot just take your word for it that you are the copyright holder of material posted. We do have an OTRS team who can help to verify this if you do want to release your work on Wikipedia. Please keep in mind this involves much more than "permission to post on Wikipedia"—we require that all work on Wikipedia be released under a free license. If you did choose to release under a free license, this would mean that anyone in the world would be allowed to copy, modify, or reuse your work, without asking or needing your permission and without payment to anyone. You can require, as part of the free license, that you be attributed as the author of the work, and that derivative works or copies remain under the same free license.

That aside, the work submitted wouldn't work anyway, so the point is rather moot in this case. We require all articles to be strictly neutral in tone. Your article served to promote the person in question. We do not allow promotion of anyone or anything in an article, nor attacks. A strictly neutral tone is required, containing only information coming from reliable sources. You may, of course, express your personal admiration or like for someone on your personal blog, but this would not be appropriate for an encyclopedia. Ideally, the reader of an article should not be able to guess the writer's opinion of the subject.

If sources have covered this person in depth, it's still possible she's an appropriate subject for an article. If that is the case, I can help you write an appropriate article. You might also wish to take your cues from heavily trafficked articles which are about historical artists, such as Vincent van Gogh or Pablo Picasso. That may give you a good idea of how an article is expected to look and what type of tone is necessary for neutrality. If you have any questions, you're welcome to ask.
