Speedy deletion of Runera

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Runera, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

You gotta be kidding me

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Drat (Talk) 16:49, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article was deleted because it provided little to no context. I don't precisely remember what was there, as it was six months ago, but it's pretty obvious you must have written an article about yourself, judging by the name.--Drat (Talk) 03:04, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Runera, perhaps you meant to create your user page instead? You originally created the article at Runera, which is in the main encyclopedia article space. User:Runera, which is what your signature links to, is your user page. You can just create a new user page at User:Runera if you want. Or, if what was deleted was meant to be your user page, I can restore it to the correct location for you. — TKD::Talk 03:09, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Runeran.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 03:59, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:OostendeNS.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:OostendeNS.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Hi Runera - thanks for uploading the Sky Tower image. However, as you could see, that article already has numerous photos on it, and they are starting to dominate the article instead of complementing it (the main feature should always be the text, since it is an encyclopaedia). I have therefore removed your image from the article.

However, it is a well-done, beautiful picture, and people might make use of it elsewhere, or simply enjoy looking at it in an image gallery - I have therefore moved it over to Commons, where it is now sorted into the Sky Tower category - see Image:Skytower From Below At Night.jpg. When next uploading an image, please consider uploading to Commons! Images are much more useful there, as they can be directly used by hundreds of wikis worldwide, as well as for other uses.

Finally, please do not be distraught at having your edit/addition reverted - the more public and well-known, and well-described, a subject already is (and the Sky Tower certainly counts there), the more difficult it gets to add to it. Don't let that keep your from adding to Wikipedia. Ingolfson 09:29, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
