Removal of birth city/country

Good day, With regards to your message just left on my Talk page kindly note:

I've been explicitly told by WP editors that according to WP policy (which I have confirmed) you do not ever add the city nor country of birth in the top section of any article of a living or dead person. It is incorrect, the city and or country is already mentioned in their bio box as well as majority of the time mentioned in the "early life" section or category. Thanks. Thanks WikiHuman2021 for your reaction. Can you, please, tell which editor(s) told you this, so I can discuss it with them? I researched and wrote the article about international eligibility of rugby players and it's definitely necessary information and they may not be aware of that. Can you also give me the link to which part of WP policy you are referring, as it may have to be changed. Bio box information is insufficient in this context. Thanks. Hi @WikiHuman2021:, I found the style guide with the information and you must have misunderstood the guideline. Look at the third and fourth examples (in green) in the Nationality in player biographies section under "Dual nationalities". If a player was born in one country, but plays for another, this definitely can (and should) be mentioned. As that same style guide mentions, it's good practice to include this in the first sentence of the article. Ruggalicious (talk) 21:46, 27 September 2022 (UTC)
