Fair use rationale for Image:Sbis-logo.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sbis-logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 22:12, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Image source problem with Image:Villegaignon-fortress.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Villegaignon-fortress.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Anrie (talk) 16:34, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Logo-unianhanguera.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Logo-unianhanguera.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:20, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I have tagged Image:Maria_della_Costa2.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. Would you mind moving this to Commons? It can be combined with the other image on the page in a new page/category. Richard001 (talk) 04:59, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
- My error, it has already been moved there by someone else (see Image:CharlesBell001.jpg and commons:Charles Bell). They just neglected to add a 'moved to Commons' note here.
- Please ensure any future uploads go to Commons though. Also, you haven't provided any source information at all (though judging from above this might not be the first time) - if you could add where you got the image it would help (and avoid deletion).
- Oh, and you might want to archive you talk page - it's horrendously long! Thanks. Richard001 (talk) 05:24, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Lists of patients
On multiple myeloma, esophageal cancer and thyroid cancer I removed lists of people suffering from (or having died of) these diseases. I find these lists generally unhelpful and failing WP:TRIVIA. Exceptions could perhaps be made for those who have made a major change to the public perception of these diseases, in which case their contribution should be spelled out in prose, not just a list of people. JFW | T@lk 22:33, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
How can you be so (poorly, arbitrarily) judgmental on what constitutes usefulness for readers? Please notice that I put together these lists, at a considerable research effort, because I am in this moment preparing a course that teaches cancer fundamentals to nurses and other health care professionals based on the types of cancers which well-known personalities were afflicted or died thereof. Novartis is funding the course, so enthusiastic they got about the idea, which of course, mixes culture with medicine, with good motivation for students. And it occurs to me also that other people like me (but not like you) would find these lists useful. Best regards --R.Sabbatini (talk) 03:49, 18 August 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem
Thanks for your uploads. You've indicated that the following images are being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why they meet Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page an image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

License tagging for Image:Journal of Health Informatics - Cover.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:Journal of Health Informatics - Cover.JPG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 16:08, 5 December 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Bárbara Gancia
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Bárbara Gancia, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- Article fails to assert the notability of the subject.
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Notability of Hugo Sabatino
A tag has been placed on Hugo Sabatino requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. R.Sabbatini (talk) 13:06, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Alexandre Yersin.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Superm401 05:44, Feb 27, 2005 (UTC) P.S. I noticed this isn't the first request for tagging. Please try to be more careful in the future. It will be appreciated. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sherool (talk) 20:16, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Horsley.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Horsley.jpg.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:06, 21 September 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 12:06, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Fausto Corrêa da Silva. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
Removal of CfD comment
You added a comment on the CfD nominations for today in the new nominations section. I removed that since it was a comment and not a nomination. I could not figure out if it was a comment about a specific discussion. If it was, fell free to readd it to the appropriate discussion.
I'd also suggest that you let one of the archive bots archive the older entries here since your talk page is rather long. If you want help is setting that up, leave me a note. Vegaswikian (talk) 22:45, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Copyright problems with EEG topography
Hello. Concerning your contribution, EEG topography, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.cerebromente.org.br/n03/tecnologia/eeg.htm. As a copyright violation, EEG topography appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. EEG topography has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:EEG topography and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:EEG topography with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:EEG topography.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. If you actually meant to relinquish all copyright to this, look at WP:DCM for more details enlarging on the above. Wikipedia errs on the conservative side in respect to copyright, and I saw no alternative other than to do this. Hopefully it can be done quickly. - Hi, I wouldn't leave Wikipedia over Upsala's hue and cry over this article. Deletion debates are not won by he who shouts the loudest or writes the most, but by reasoned argument. Providing good sources is the way to avert deletion. Fences&Windows 02:08, 24 January 2010 (UTC)
File source problem with File:Orville derby.gif
Thanks for uploading File:Orville derby.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. Fair use rationale for File:Cassio Raposo Amaral.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cassio Raposo Amaral.gif. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Orphaned non-free image File:Folha de Sao Paulo.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Folha de Sao Paulo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. The article Renata Ceribelli has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Can't find anything even approaching sufficient sources for a full biography.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Seraphimblade Talk to me 05:03, 25 September 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Emil goeldi.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Emil goeldi.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 16:54, 3 January 2011 (UTC)

File:March of dimes.jpg needs authorship information.
The media file you uploaded as File:March of dimes.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.
It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.
Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided),authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).
If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which:{{subst:usernameexpand|Rsabbatini/Archive 3}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
or the {{own}} template..
If you have any questions please see Help:Image page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:18, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
