Beach Boys album infoboxes

[edit]

Thank you for introducing the infoboxes. I'll see what I can add to them in due course. Unfortunately this will not include pictures, at least from me. Bobo192 3 July 2005 12:43 (UTC)

Hi. It's not a case of it not working, but that Wikipedia administration frowns upon wikilinks to non-Wikipedia sites. That's why the External Links section exists. Memory Alpha uses the same engine but it is not a Wikipedia site. There may well be a Wikipedia article existing for that character. If none exists, then feel free to create one. Cheers! 23skidoo 05:56, 14 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

New Engineering Wiki

[edit]

Engineering Wiki is a wiki entirely dedicated to collecting information about Engineering. I invite you to join this wiki.

Were you aware that there are more specific subcategories? See Category:Films based on DC comics for an example of what I mean. Within that is the subcat Category:Batman films, so much of what you've done is redundant. CovenantD 16:41, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Roygbiv666.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MER-C 04:09, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of DC Database Project, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.dcdatabaseproject.com/DC_Database:About. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 19:33, 29 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TfD nomination of Template:V for Vendetta

[edit]

Template:V for Vendetta has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. — Maccy69 13:17, 19 October 2007 (UTC) (I'm considering doing the same with the Watchmen Template that you created, so I thought you might be interested in joining the discussion.)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Blackterror2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Blackterror2.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. WebHamster 01:55, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Steel comic 1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Steel comic 1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:21, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Erroneous public domain tags

[edit]

While I wish it were so, things do not fall into the public domain simply because the copyright holder is unknown or defunct. This places the work into a type of legal limbo (see orphan work for more information), but the work is still copyrighted. Please ensure that you do not use public-domain tags in these cases, the work is still copyrighted and nonfree until the copyright actually expires. If you wish to use such an image, a nonfree use rationale is required as normal. If you have tagged other media as public domain for this reason, please ensure that you reverse it and write any necessary nonfree rationales.
