Hey ClueBot, do your job
Hi Roux, me again. Id like for you to address our previous debate at the Village Pump. I know it was long ago but I JUST found this thing out. Cathys Son (talk) 00:38, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
You still doing these? Casliber (talk · contribs) 08:41, 8 April 2011 (UTC)
- I am yes, I just haven't been around more than sporadically lately, guess I didn't see it in my watchlist. → ROUX ₪ 18:49, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Twinkle did not create the actual nomination page, so I removed the tag and listing at AfD if you would like to retry. MrKIA11 (talk) 19:23, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Completely unrelated, but I was just looking at your userpage, and at least for me, your navigation is overlapping your other boxes. I think you can change the <div>
to the following: <div id="title-override" class="topicon" style="background-color: #f8fcff; position: absolute; top: -3em; width: 100%; font-family: 'Trebuchet MS', sans serif;">

Please don't bite Darkjedi10
As the title says, please go easy on Darkjedi10. I am convinced he really is a child of 10 and sarcastic comments are unlikely to help. I also removed the full list of policies and guidelines, as we can't expect anybody to read them all. Yoenit (talk) 08:02, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- WP:BITE talks about newcomers. He claims he is experienced, so I'm going to treat him that way. WP:COMPETENCE includes the notion that one must be able to understand the rules, and there is not an exception for age provided. He's going to act like an idiot, he's going to get treated like one. He's going to claim he's experienced, he's going to be spoken to clearly and bluntly. Perhaps he will learn a valuable lesson about not pretending to be something you aren't. → ROUX ₪ 21:25, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm (unusually) going to agree with Roux here. WP:BITE is explicitly about new users, and the intention behind it was to avoid scaring those educated-but-unfamiliar-with-wikis users Jimbo is so keen on attracting, by bombarding them with a mass of templates, warnings and incomprehensible jargon for not being familiar with WP:MOS, WP:3RR, WP:GNG and all the rest of the alphabet soup. Darkjedi claims to be the operator of four wikis himself and to be present on six others; if he explicitly says (as he does) that he wants to be treated as an experienced user, he can't then complain when people treat him as an experienced user who should know better. If you (Yoenit) can talk him down, that's all well and good, but while I personally have no intention of blocking him at this stage Roux is just stating a simple fact when he points out that he's heading squarely on course to be blocked for disruption. – iridescent 23:57, 13 May 2011 (UTC)
- Is it really that unusual? If memory serves, you and I see eye to eye on a great many issues. Or perhaps more accurately, it is a very rare occasion that I find any reason to disagree with anything you've said. → ROUX ₪ 00:27, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

- I'm not 10 years old. Actually, the number "10" is my favorite number and that's why I picked it. Don't make assumptions with no evidence to prove it right. Here's my four wiki's: http://takecommandwar.wikia.com, http://hazzardcountypedia.wikia.com, http://theboardgamewar.wikia.com & http://classicbands.wikia.com (I co-own number 4). Ignatieff & Duceppe
I'm running out of places to find out when they actually resigned their party leaderships. I feel like that fellow in the TZ episode "Where Is Everybody?". -- GoodDay (talk) 03:27, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- Ignatieff, Duceppe → ROUX ₪ 04:28, 14 May 2011 (UTC)
- I watched those on the TV. Neither said their resignations were immediate, on those dates. They merely announced their pending resignations. GoodDay (talk) 15:18, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

I didn't mean me!
LOL. Sorry for the delay, I just saw your email. I just pop on for 5 minutes a day nowadays, and sometimes go days without checking my Wikipedia email account. Anyway, I looked into your question, and have replied to your email. I think leaving sleeping dogs lie is the best course of action. --Floquenbeam (talk) 20:29, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
- That was my initial thought, but as you can see it's problematic. I'm sure you also see now why I didn't want to get into naming the user without a clear path forward. Kind of a mess. → ROUX ₪ 20:37, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm touched
My last post to a certain talk page could be read as a thinly veiled insult (or two), so you're going beyond the call in objecting to its being described as vandalism. ;) —Tamfang (talk) 00:23, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Trance music
Thanks for notifying WPEM about your excellent analysis of the trance music article. I'm not sure how many people still watch that project. I'll read through your comments more fully and have a search around later on, but to be honest, I would just plunge in and start fixing it. The problem with genre articles is that they're very susceptible to flooding with spam, original research and confusing nonsense and you just have to watch them very closely to stop this from becoming a problem. Anyone I knew from WPEM when it was active knows this well.. - filelakeshoe 19:01, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- That is indeed a problem. If you look at the recent history of the article you'll see why I didn't just plunge in. I would much prefer to gain consensus first and then make the edits. If you look at the history, and at the history of the talkpage, I'm hoping you can see why that is my preferred route. → ROUX ₪ 19:07, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
אתה ישראלי?
אתה ישראלי? כן או לא?
and in case you aren't, I am asking if you are Israeli. Your talk page symbol is that of the New Israeli Shekel. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 03:54, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not, and my Hebrew is way too rusty to read what you wrote ;) I'm vaguely Jewish by ancestry (maternal great-great grandmother), but that's about it. I picked the shekel symbol because my username is pronounced 'roo' (or 'ru'), and if you look at the shekel, it looks kind of like ru squished together. → ROUX ₪ 04:00, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, well it's actually a combo of two letters, shin (ש) and chet (ח), which usually looks more round. They do that because in Hebrew it's shekel chadesh, or new shekel. =p Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 02:11, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- According to Google Translate, it does indeed say, "You're an Israeli? Yes or No?" I wasn't aware that the question mark symbol went all the way back to Old Testament. :) Just for fun, I put this one in:
- לאכול בבית של מו
- I wonder if the translation really works? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 01:42, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
It says "To eat in the house of Moe". The question mark has been adopted in Hebrew for the sake of ease as the language has been in use for quite some time. Idk if they ever had another symbol in history. =p Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 02:11, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Aha, I hit Google translate with "Eat at Moe's", and that was what it came up with. I'm thinking they interpreted "eat" as an infinitive, rather than an imperative like with an advertising slogan. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:16, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- AFAIK Hebrew doesn't have its own punctuation marks, though the dogesh can function in that way in limited circumstances (again, AFAIK IIRC OMGWTFBBQ ec). → ROUX ₪ 02:14, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Where Moses asks God what His name is, how do translators interpret it as a question? Simply by context? Or are there Hebrew tenses that indicate that a sentence is a question? ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 02:18, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- I honestly don't know; I did not learn Hebrew in a context which was conducive to understanding it in a reading/writing/conversational sense. → ROUX ₪ 02:32, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I'm linking to that (or copying it if you prefer). Very nicely done, and should come in handy for my next batch of adoptees. Best, Rob ROBERTMFROMLI | TK/CN 18:30, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- By all means. I never did get around to making the level 201 lessons. I probably should I suppose; perhaps we can figure out some things that would be more 'advanced' work? I was thinking a GA would be good, but I can't at this late date recall what else I had been thinking. → ROUX ₪ 20:11, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- A GA is a very very very good idea...(hey, what's with the *^(*&^ DON'T PANIC...man that's loud!)......I was thinking about some notes on how to write a GA for beginners to make it less scary (subject choice etc.). I've done a recipe for FA on my userpage (somewhat glib but still...). I think everyone needs to have a go at writing content here to appreciate how the process works.
