Suggestion

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your The Faculty of Useless Knowledge article! With all articles on a topic predominantly discussed in a foreign language, it's good to put in, written in brackets, the original-language title at the start of the article, and to link to articles on the topic (if any) on foreign-languge Wikipedia pages. Both actions help the discoverability of the article and make it more useful. As there were French- and Russian-language articles on the novel already I've linked to them, and put in the original-language title. Hopefully I've done this correctly! When quoting text in another language on Wikipedia it's also a good plan to wrap it in a tag to help screenreaders process it using the language template. Thank you! I will do my best to follow your suggestions. RossK 18:17, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

RossK, I noticed you uploaded File:Julian Master.jpg, but you didn't provide a source. Where did you get this image from? Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 04:18, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

GSS, I don't understand your question. It looks like the source of work and the license are in the descriptions.--RossK 18:23, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

It says own work so can you please explain how you own this image? GSS (talk|c|em) 18:41, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, that's easy. I'm an amateur photographer and I often take pictures everywhere from my camera or a cellphone. You can see my other contributions to Wikimedia Commons. As to that particular work, on that day I was taking random pictures on the streets of NYC and that one was taken near one of the photo-galleries in Manhattan. I saw one person was interacting with the pedestrians(he is a street photo-journalist) and I just took a picture of him(a few other people did as as well). Then, the owner of the photo-gallery told me that the person was Julian Master who did photos for Brooklyn Mermaid Parade and People at the Dog Show. As I follow the best photo journalists in the world, I saved the photo and later decided to contribute it to the Wikimedia. And yes, I did the wikipedia page as well as I found a lot of references for the person. I anticipate your next question and I want to answer it now: I do not know this photo journalist personally but I know his works.

I think I detailed it very clearly and I would like to accentuate that more questions about me or my works would constitute an invasion of privacy as I don't want to disclose my personality here with too much information. The reason for that is that I did an opposition project for IC3PEAK and I don't want to be discovered with sharing too much information. If you want to know more, please, send me an email to: ross_kramerov@mail.ru RossK 22:01, 7 July 2019 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Anwar Khalifa, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion nomination of Williams & Williams Estates Group

[edit]

Hello Ross kramerov,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Williams & Williams Estates Group for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Heather Parry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page A Star Is Born (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Rayni Williams, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
  • It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of hiltonhyland.com/associates/rayni-williams. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Ross kramerov. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. – Athaenara 14:27, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon

Hello Ross kramerov. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Ross kramerov. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Ross kramerov|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. – Athaenara 14:27, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have no COI with anyone and I comply by your decision. I just worked too much on the article and it makes me frustrated that it is deleted.RossK 16:14, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
