Speedy deletion nomination of Kieran Powell (Ventriloquist)

A tag has been placed on Kieran Powell (Ventriloquist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. The statements that you made on this article don't really show that he's important: I've performed in front of thousands of people, but that doesn't make me anywhere close to important. The external links that you mention aren't anywhere close to being what Wikipedia defines as reliable sources, so they don't help to bolster the article's position. As well, please understand that you must demonstrate that Powell is important: it's not enough to say that there are plenty of sources out there, because an article must explain why its subject is important in order to avoid speedy deletion. Finally, you apparently have a conflict of interest, since your connection to KieranVentriloquist is obvious. Nyttend (talk) 21:19, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
