Senator Street Historic District

[edit]

Doncram - thanks for your help. A good photo to use for the Senator Street Historic District would be from the link that you already have: Here

I suggest using the first picture on the 4th page (portrait rather than landscape). Thanks for your help and feel free to contact me. Ron Ronrite (talk) 04:21, 26 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Senator Street Historic District

[edit]

Hi, i saw your edit elsewhere (at Template talk:infobox NRHP#Edit request on 15 February 2013), about adding photos to the Senator Street Historic District article. That would be great! In wikipedia, however, we have to be careful about adding only photographs that are in the public domain or are otherwise available under general licenses such as what is known as the Creative Commons License, so I cannot myself just upload one of those photos. It is not immediately obvious to everyone elese that the photos within this link at the NYS OPRHP site are available that way. But, your statement indicates that you were author of the NRHP application and that the photos are yours (so you would own copyright to them). So it definitely would be possible to have them uploaded if you would put them into the public domain or release them under one of the general licenses.

I think the way to proceed would be for you to put in an email request, following directions at wp:OTRS. That would open a "ticket", where a volunteer administrator could help with the process. Please ask any questions or state any comments here (I will "watchlist" here and would probably see your response) or get my attention at my Talk page, User talk:Doncram.

Thanks already for your help. It would be really great to get some of those photos uploaded and used to illustrate the Senator Street Historic District article. Also, if you had brand new photos, it would be possible to easily add them, even more simply, by the way. Cheers, --doncram 19:18, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
