Help me!

[edit]

I have submitted my first article for review. I wanted to upload an image that I own but was unable to upload it. Is this because I have only recently been registered? Is there any way I can request to have the image upload added to the draft of my article? Thank you. Please help me with... Adding an image that is not in Wikipedia Commons. I own the image but am not allowed to upload it.Ronpen2379 (talk) 21:33, 2 February 2018 (UTC) Ronpen2379 (talk) 21:33, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If it's your image goto c:Commons:Upload. Only experienced users can upload locally here on en-wiki (and locally is mainly for "non-free" or "free only in US" images). Use same username and password. Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:27, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you have problems on commons goto c:Commons:Help_desk Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:28, 2 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much RonH jones. That solved the problem. Ronpen2379 (talk) 14:47, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at Draft:Rudolph Pen. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Missvain (talk) 04:41, 18 March 2018 (UTC) Thank you for your message, Missvain. I am glad that someone finally had time to look at the article I submitted on Rudolph Pen. Please note that this is NOT an autobiographical or publicity entry. It is a biographical entry on my father (we share the surname). I was careful to observe all aspects of Wikipedia's neutrality policy. The article was entirely objective and was documented according to objective and respected sources. My father was a highly respected visual artist who taught at the Art Institute of Chicago for many years and also served as director of it's summer arts program (Oxbow) and director of the Alumni Association. He was critically praised for a number of years in critical press and is represented in many leading private and museum collections. I did write the article as his son, but I am a musicologist and professor emeritus at the University of Kentucky. As such, I fully understand scholarly writing and academic objectivity. If there is something specific in the article that is problematic, I will be happy to adjust it.Ronpen2379 (talk) 20:39, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so very much for your note about the revised status of my article on Rudolph Pen. I was frustrated by the initial rejection because I had closely adhered to the neutrality ideals and I had also worked hard to insure all sources were fully documented. I do understand the reservation about being "close" to the source--I was mis-identified as the subject and source of the article in one review. Now that the article is posted, others with more detached perspective may alter it with additional information, etc. Thank you.Ronpen2379 (talk)
