[edit]Hello, I'm HickoryOughtShirt?4. I noticed that you recently removed content from The Bachelorette (season 14) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Request reason:
I removed incorrect information, corrected someone’s name & age
Decline reason:
that does not appear to be the case. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 04:20, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock request.

Request reason:
yes that’s true. I’ve changed names & ages back to the original several times now. Lincoln is listed as a “sex offender” by occupation. Leo is listed as a “noodle maker”. Why can’t those be corrected? Rondavanmeter (talk) 04:30, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Accept reason:
See below. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:12, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- The Bachelorette (season 14) looks to have been vandalized recently. I reverted the most obvious vandalism. Thank you for pointing that out. You still haven't explained why you repeatedly removed the controversy section, however. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 05:23, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Blocked

Request reason:
Because the information is not correct. It’s an internet feud between 2 people due to his role on the show. Rondavanmeter (talk) 05:36, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

I've unblocked you. Please, take the time to review our rules and ask questions when you're unsure. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:12, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Ignoring the multiple unblock requests, Drmies, it seems like this editor is trying to invoke WP:UNDUE and WP:BLP. Any thoughts? I mean, we are citing the New York Post here, which is kind of a warning flag that what follows is probably tabloid trash. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 06:52, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for considering the removal of this information. I'm sure I'm not requesting this the correct way, my apologies.
- NinjaRobotPirate, I have a few problems with these edits that led to the block. (And yes, I understand it's a new editor--but surely new editors should tread lightly). The first edit is unexplained; OK, it's a first edit. But "deleted false information and "Corrected" aren't much better. Plus, all their other edits were the usual minuscule and unexplained edits we see in these articles. Yes, I'll agree that the NYP isn't solid, but Daily Dot isn't always terrible, and there's two more sources, including a Jezebel article. I know, that's also not great and it relies on the NYP, but it contains responses by the involved people to Jezebel, so that's something. If you are confident, esp. after comments here, that the user was trying to do something in good faith (something for which they need to either explicitly claim BLP, or seek the talk page), then I'm fine with you unblocking. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 18:19, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Thank you for the consideration. I need to learn more about this for sure, as it was my first edit. My only concern is hoping to keep the defamatory information off the site, and Leo's name from being changed to something else, as it has been several times. I understand how to use the BLP or UNDUE citations, if you grant me editing privileges again.
- Would you be willing to look through this summary of our rules and ask any questions you have at the Teahouse, our new user forum? If so, I can unblock you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:51, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
Oh yes, absolutely! Thank you for the direction.
Help me!

Please help me with...requesting that the controversial material regarding Leo Dottavio be omitted from the bachelorette season 14 page. This information is not verifiable, and has been reported by tabloids only. The information appearing here is negatively impacting this person's ability to work and should not be reported as factual when it's in fact, heresay. It's strictly the result of an internet feud between two people over a girl he kissed on the show, as part of his role. Her friend has incited all of her followers to "destroy him," with undue actions and unfair accusations. He's currently working on damages against this person, and these one-sided portrayals are detrimental. Thank you for your consideration.

- I have pulled the requested material, for now, per BLP. I am not endorsing the argument posed in this request. StrikerforceTalk 16:48, 24 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you so much. Would you consider removing my block? If someone puts it back, can I get it removed?
- I am not an administrator and thus can't act upon a block. StrikerforceTalk 17:41, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

Can you tell me how to request that I be unblocked?
- You've already done so above. Just try to be patient. Let's see what Drmies thinks. Drmies is the admin who blocked you. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 18:15, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Your recent editing history at Leo Dottavio shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 04:06, 26 March 2021 (UTC)
