Miguel Angel Suárez

[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to the Miguel Angel Suárez article. I see that you are new here and may be unfamiliar to our policies and how things work here, therefore I will explain. As you know Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a fansite or blog. As such we solely rely on cited reliable verifiable sources when any information is posted on a persons biography. You posted the he had a stepdaughter called "Belange Rodríguez" and as a source used elblogdehola.blogspot.com. I'm sorry, but this is a "blog" space where anyone can post whatever they want and as such is not considered a "reliable" source and unacceptable per Wikipedia policy. It has been removed and will remain so until and unless you can provide a newspaper, official biography or interview in which it is publicly stated that he had said stepdaughter. Your addition of "sometimes credited as "Miguelángel Suárez," does not go in the introduction, it goes within the proper section of the article, the place where I moved it. I hope that you understand that I'm explaining all this to you because here in Wikipedia we take very seriously what is added to our articles especially the biographies of people and it is in our best interest to protect the integrity of the same and to protect them from any form of vandalism. Thank you.

  • Ronald, en relacion a tus preguntas, te dire que Miguel Angel era uno de mis actores favorito-"Stir Crazy". Don't worry, I wasn't saying that your additions were vandalism. What happens is that I always keep a watchful "eye" on every article that I write (over 500) and I like to make sure that any change is within policy. Your changes were made in good faith and I respect you for that. Now, the "Imdb" website is not acceptable as a reliable source because that is also a website that anyone can post any information be it positive or negative. Ahora, "El Vocero" es otro cantar. That is what can be considered a reliable and better yet a verifiable source. I will fix it for you. I moved "Miguelangel" close to the film section because it is true, I have seen him credited as such in some films. In regard to "spouse = Amneris Morales", I took out the year thing because I think that it may add to some confusion to those who read it and just left the name of "Amneris Morales" solo. Anyway, Ronald feel free to edit and write in Wikipedia and if you have any questions, be it about Wikipedia policy or anything please do not hesitate to ask. AN/I Report

[edit]

Hi. In regard to your AN/I report, you listed what may be the user's real name, which contravenes WP:OUTING. Unless the user identifies themselves on Wikipedia, you shouldn't really post identifying information, as per the policy. Accordingly, I have remove the instances where you used the name, but otherwise left your message intact. - Bilby (talk) 03:25, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I should add that I noticed, on looking further, that the user may have a connection with the name you used. That aside, I'm still wary about using what may be their real name on wiki. I do understand that you used the name in good faith, but to keep things safe it would work better if the user remained unnamed - it limits the risk of problems, especially given that we don't know for sure that the user really is that person. Oh, and I just got your message. Not to worry - as mentioned, I think it is safer to leave the real name out of discussions, but I understood when I saw your post on AN/I that you weren't trying to out the user. If this was in regard to COI, and the user had identified themselves, then it would be useful, but a behavioral problem doesn't require them to be identified, as we just need to evaluate their actions as an editor. :) - Bilby (talk) 03:34, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
