There is no copyright infringement to the best of my knowledge as the detected infringement happens to be only on the store names and other facilities inside the mall which cannot be changed/paraphrased. I have also given credit to the website for the information used under sources. Am making this change on behalf of Singapore Tourism in order to provide as much information on the Singapore shopping as possible as the Great Singapore Sale starts in two days.

Hi, I am making certain changes to existing pages and creating a few new pages which are related to Singapore shopping. I am doing it on behalf of Singapore Government's Tourism Board who want to list details of the forthcoming Great Singapore Sale. I am not clear as to what is considered promotional information in this case. Say for example, we want to let people know that during the sale period, certain malls/stores will be open till late (11 pm). Is that something that is considered promotional? I understand announcing the plenty of discounts available is promotional and I will remove the same before uploading again. Could I link to the website instead under external links for people to see more information on discounts?

I am really sorry for causing any inconvenience. But I made the changes to Mustafa Center after reading the guidelines. And all I added to the page was the fact that besides shopping, Mustafa Center also offers travel related services. I would assume this is content that is useful and encyclopedic in nature. I am just trying to state pure facts, not promoting anything. Please advise as to what I can do to not be blocked. Thanks.

I have read through the guidelines after the first few errors and have only posted content that I deemed non-promotional or soapbox like based on my understanding. I believe that you are under the mistaken assumption that Wikipedia is an outlet for your advertising. We expect that the language used in the encyclopedia be neutral in tone. Looking at your contributions, while you may have had good intentions of adding information the way that you were doing it was unacceptable. Does that help explain things? I am really sorry once again. I do understand where I went wrong with promoting certain places and events which is not permitted on Wikipedia and I guarantee it will not happen again. I only wish to understand it better, and would really appreciate if you could explain it to me in context of the changes I made to Mustafa Centre. The other ones are still understandable, but this one was purely adding more useful information for anyone who wishes to know more about Mustafa Centre- that it also has travel, visa and foreign exchange services, which is only aimed to help people know more about the place. Please unblock me and I do guarantee you that I will not be posting anything remotely promotional or spam-like and would strive to only add enriching, meaningful content to maintain the esteem of Wikipedia. You weren't blocked for your edit to the Mustafa Centre article - you were blocked because, according to your statements above, you're editing on behalf of the Singapore Government Tourism Board and have been doing nothing but adding promotional text to articles. Thanks a lot for unblocking. I will not be adding anything promotional to the articles anymore. I was not blocked for the Mustafa Center edit, but was given a warning

which is why I was confused about the kind of content that is OK to add. I am only doing it on their behalf as we do realize some of the pages, like the Great Singapore Sale, are not updated. I tried to make changes 2 times based on the warnings, but both times the changes were deleted. The current page has details on the Great Singapore Sale that are valid for 2007. I just replaced some of the details with 2011 updates, but it was not approved. I will carefully figure out what could be the best way to enrich the article with useful information without promoting the event.
