Please do not write an article about yourself , as you did at Robert Emms. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged - see our guideline Writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. Proposed deletion of Robert Emms

The article Robert Emms has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Self-promotional article with no evidence of notability. Nothing in the article indicates that he is anything other than a very ordinary actor. The sources include his agent's web site, a theatre he has worked at, and businesses selling tickets for plays he has acted in.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Robert Emms

Hi. If you are Robert Emms the actor, or are acting on his behalf, can I ask you to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest? It'll give you useful information and advice about the various Wikipedia rules/policies/guidance/whatever they are about creating and editing articles about yourself. I have removed the proposed deletion tag from the Robert Emms page because I believe the proposal to be specious; my reasons are given in full on the talk page there. Editing your own article

If you are Robert Emms, please be aware that the Wikipedia article on you isn't a personal website and you don't get to control what does or doesn't go in to that article. Obviously if material is libellous, factually inaccurate etc it you are perfectly entitled to remove it, but not if you merely don't like it. A cited source states that Robert Emms was a singing tutor at the London School of Dramatic Art. Could you explain what is wrong with this information?

Some things you might like to read about editing your own article on Wikipedia include WP:BLPEDIT, WP:COI and WP:AUTO. There is also something called the three revert rule WP:3R which you need to bear in mind or you might risk getting blocked for your editing. (I assume you were the IP in Montreal performing the same edit). Also, please could you fill in the edit summary field at the bottom of the page when you make an edit, as it makes it easier for other users to see what has been done to the article. Thanks.
