Information icon Please do not write or add to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Deletion

[edit]

I've deleted all the prior versions of the copyrighted text. Do not use this talk page as a draft. If you restore it again, I will block you immediately and restrict talk page access. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:54, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Again, you started a page at Draft:Robert Kei Koga but that was a direct copyright violation. While everyone will tell you not to try to create an autobiography here, if you want to start one, you can start again at the draft page but do not simply copy and paste the text from another website (even if it is yours). It will be deleted again and again so if you are interested in actually trying to write something that is neutral and unbiased (again, difficult if it is an autobiography), we will work with you on that. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 02:58, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
User:Ricky81682 - It's not an autobiography. He isn't Robert Kei Koga. He is merely using the name of a notable dead person, and I have already tried to warn him about a username violation. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:13, 13 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, I am coder working for the Koga Institute. So I was simply trying to post this document (Bio on R. Koga) using the 'edit' feature of Wikipedia. Navigating this interface is not easy for someone (me) that is using it ONE time and will never use it again. This is not an autobiography, it is a biography. Robert Koga is a very noteworthy subject in the law enforcement community. If that is not enough to get his bio on Wikipedia, then that is all I need to hear. Again, this was simply a task given to me. Thanks.

You don't seem to want to listen. Several of us have tried to give you advice that you don't seem to want to listen to. First, you were already advised that your user name is misleading, because it is that of a real dead person. You don't seem to have paid attention to that. You can be blocked for having a misleading user name. Second, you were copying text from the web site of the organization. You evidently didn't know that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and that the web site is copyrighted, and the mere fact that you work for the organization does not itself permit the copying of the copyrighted text. Now you do know that the web site is copyrighted. So don't do it again, or you will be blocked. Third, the fact that the task was given to you does not mean that Wikipedia needs to allow you to do the task. Just because your employer gave you instructions that are not permitted does not mean that you have permission. Stop. If you want advice, ask for advice at the Teahouse, but try listening to advice. [edit]
This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because the username, Robert Kei Koga, matches the name of a well-known, living person.

If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:

  1. Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
  2. Please send an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles e-mail is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.

If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).

A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.

You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:

  1. Adding {{unblock-un|your new username here}} on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "E-mail this user" on their talk page.
  2. At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
  3. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
If you think that you were blocked in error, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|Your reason here}}, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Vanjagenije (talk) 09:44, 25 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
