Speedy deletion nomination of Scott Burnett
[edit]A tag has been placed on Scott Burnett requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 15:55, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
The article Scott Burnett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Needs sources.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 16:26, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Proposal of WikiProject:Darts

Christian Baracat
[edit]I have removed your template for deletion on the Christian Baracat article, as rugby union internationals are noteworthy and your reasoning "The individual in question would like to request its deletion for privacy reasons and the fact that it affects his current professional reputation" is difficult to follow as there is nothing in the article in any way critical of him. You may want to familiarise yourself with the deletion process on Wikipedia, it is common curtesy to notify the author of an article of a proposed deletion. If you still fell, the article should be deleted, have a read of Wikipedia:Deletion policy and initiate a deletion discussion under Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks, have a nice day, Calistemon (talk) 14:44, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- You are mistaekn in a number of ways. It is not within my power to delete the article. If you, or Christian Baracat wants this to happen, you have to go throught the Articles for Deletion process, which is straightforward enough.
- As to Christian Baracat being upset about the page, I'm a bit buffled, as more information on him is already available on Linked in and totalrugby.de as there is in this article and he doesn't seem to have tried to have those deleted. Personally, I would be extremly proud to have been capped five times for my country in any sport, but thats just me.
- Thirdly, it seems a slightly arrogant view, that only rugby union internationals from the major nations like France or England are notable. While not a sport of the masses, rugby has a very long and proud history in Germany and the national team competed, in 2008-10, at the highest possible level in Europe, given that the six nations aren't open for promotion/relegation.
- All that said, if Christian Baracat was really upset about the page, I would suggest sending an email to Wikipedia and, as you said, we wouldn't really be much worse off without the article and I certainly wouldn't object to deletion under those circumstances. A deletion however can only be carried out by an Admin, which I'm not. Keep well in Brussels, and say sorry to Christian Baracat if I upset him by creating an article on him. It was only for the purpose of improving the coverage on German rugby with no intention on upsetting him, Calistemon (talk) 23:05, 11 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, send Wikipedia an email and go from there. Should this prove difficult or unsuccessful, get him to drop me an email instead. As the creator and only contributor, I can request speedy deletion under Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion G7. Calistemon (talk) 00:31, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
