Welcome to the Wikipedia!

[edit]

Welcome to the Wikipedia, Rob Zako! And thanks for the suggestion over on the Wikipedia:Requested moves page. Hope you enjoy editing here and becoming a Wikipedian! Here are a few perfunctory tips to hasten your acculturation into the Wikipedia experience:

And some odds and ends: Boilerplate text, Brilliant prose, Cite your sources, Civility, Conflict resolution, How to edit a page, How to write a great article, Pages needing attention, Peer review, Policy Library, Utilities, Verifiability, Village pump, Wikiquette, and you can sign your name on any page by typing 4 tildes: ~~~~.

Best of luck, Rob Zako, and most importantly, have fun! Ombudsman 05:32, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bold, revert, discuss

[edit]

The practice that you are undertaking at List of The Big Bang Theory episodes is disruptive. We generally follow a BOLD, revert, discuss cycle which says that once your initial addition of the information to the article was reverted you should have not restored the information, but instead initiated a discussion explaining why you think your edits should be included. In practice the process often becomes BOLD, Revert, revert, revert, discuss. I reverted your second restoration of the disputed edits primarily because they contradict Wikipedia:External links and the spirit of Wikipedia:Trivia sections. It was inappropriate of you to revert again. Edit warring is counter-productive, impedes discussion, is unlikely to gain support for your edits and may result in you being blocked from editing. --AussieLegend (talk) 08:19, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate that you're probably frustrated by the reverting of your Big Bang Theory edits. This seems important to you, and you were BOLD and put in a lot of work, only to have it taken away in a heartbeat. But understand; this was not done arbitrarily. There are other people here more familiar with the mission statement of Wikipedia than you are (or me, for that matter; God knows I'm nobody special), and all they're trying to do is maintain the encyclopedia's standard. This sort of thing is going to happen. I'm more than sure it's happened to AussieLegend at some point (in fact, he mentioned preferring the title references be removed as well, but being out-voted on the matter). Wikipedia is not a fan site, and it just seems that the Vanity cards belong in that arena. KnownAlias contact 15:19, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Album A Fifth Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Album A Fifth Cover.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:05, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
