License tagging for Image:Katie-cheryl.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Katie-cheryl.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:07, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

WNBA Rivalry Page

[edit]

Hi and welcome, Rjb 81. I reverted your contribution because it appears to violate a couple of the prime tenets of the Wikipedia project. First, your account of the playoffs appears to be original research, with a lot of editorializing flavoring the facts (though TheHoosierState89's edits are an improvement). This leads to another tenet of Wikipedia, having a neutral point of view. It may be your opinion that certain WNBA teams hold the biggest rivalries, but wikipedia articles should only contain that which is verifiable. There is no quantitative measure of what makes one rivalry "bigger" than another, so it would be difficult to verify it. On the other hand, if a reputable source was cited in the article that supported your additions, then it would at least represent the opinion of a notable source, rather than just your own. Finally, I do not believe a section dedicated to team rivalries is particularly relevant to an encyclopedic entry. There is no corresponding section in the NBA, and while there is an article called [Significant_rivalries_in_the_NFL], it suffers the same problems, namely lack of any cited sources, and is inherently POV. ---Jackel 13:59, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
