Warning icon Please refrain from hijacking pages as you did with Right to Dream Academy. Should you believe the subject you were writing about deserves an article, please use the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version that you can then get feedback on. Also see Wikipedia's disambiguation guideline which indicates how to handle separate subjects with similar names. If you continue to hijack an existing article, you may be blocked from editing. If you have any questions, you are always welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. —Bruce1eetalk 11:37, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I work at Right To Dream and am the Global Director of Marketing & Media - we are preparing a new global announcement in 15 minutes, hence the change to this page as it sees the "academy" upgrade to a group organisation status

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:45, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

{unblock|I work for Right To Dream - We are about to globally release to the press our new structure and how our academy works. Please allow us to refresh the out of date content on our existing Wiki, we have lost the original account details and have had to make this account we are making changed to. Our global announcement goes live in 10 minutes!}

I have removed the historical media links... what's else do we need to do to update our own page?

Our page / this new user name is no different to 'City Football Group' is it?

If it's a username issue...

Request reason:

Our single academy organisation is announcing this very minute it's expansion to a multi-academy model

Decline reason:

Great. Good for you! Wikipedia isn't the place to announce this, though. See WP:USERNAME, WP:COI, WP:PROMO, and particularly, WP:NOT. Yamla (talk) 13:38, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok noted, may I ask to be unblocked so I can reattempt updating this aligned with the guidelines please? Sincere apologies for any inconvenience this caused I shall also close this account, and create a new one that aligns with the guidelines too - would appreciate my IP being unblocked

You are not permitted to set up a new account unless and until this account is unblocked. Doing so would violate WP:EVADE and WP:SOCK and would lead to more significant sanctions against you. --Yamla (talk) 13:54, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Yamla, understood - I shall await hopefully having my IP unblocked so I can then bring everything back into guidelines with the username (by shutting this one if it is breaching guidelines) and the content of the page ASAP today

One open unblock request at a time, please. You have three. And no, we aren't interested in you doing this. Please reread WP:COI, WP:PAID, and WP:PROMO. If your goal here is to write about the Right to Dream Academy, this is the end of the line for you. If instead you wish to write about subject areas for which you have no conflict of interest, you may be considered for unblocking. --Yamla (talk) 14:01, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hi Yamla, I understand - Agreed I will write about subject areas only and will seek approval before attempting to publish to ensure it's in line. I appreciate your guidance so this is right.

Decline reason:

Declining this as a formality since talk page access was revoked. — Daniel Case (talk) 07:09, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Getting unblocked

[edit]

Hey, RTDG. In order to improve your chances of getting yourself unblocked, you can do a few things at the Unblock Ticket Request System. 1. Promise to change your username. All usernames are unique to the user, not to the role. We don't allow people to pass them on to the next person in the role because we learn to trust you, not your role. 2. Promise to disclose your conflict of interest on your user page and at the article talk. 3. Promise never to edit the article directly but instead to make edit requests at the article talk. 4. Promise to accept the fact that the article doesn't belong to Right to Dream, and that you have no real control over it.

If you do that, you'll have a better chance of getting unblocked, but afterwards I strongly recommend you learn a lot more about Wikipedia before you even start requesting edits. That page is never going to look like the changes you made earlier for any longer than it takes for another editor to happen along and discover it looking that way. Wikipedia is not LinkedIn or FaceBook. We do not allow promotional content.

I realize you can't answer here, but if you want to email me with any questions, feel free; there's a link at my user page. I'll answer here. —valereee (talk) 18:32, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
