Proposed deletion of Outsourced car pool service

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Outsourced car pool service, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Repost of Charter Drive

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Charter Drive requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article and put a note on the page's discussion page saying why this article should stay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 10:50, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest with Charter Drive

[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Charter Drive, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 10:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Charter Drive, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 11:02, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Pooled cars, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.webcars.co.uk/taxing_issues_2_1.asp. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Hello. Concerning your contribution, Pooled cars, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.webcars.co.uk/taxing_issues_2_1.asp. As a copyright violation, Pooled cars appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Pooled cars has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

  • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Pooled cars and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
  • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Pooled cars with a link to where we can find that note.
  • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Pooled cars.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 11:08, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the above on 15 January 2007 as a blatant advert, since it contained text like "Charter Drive generates immediate savings for car owners driving less than 12,000 km per year. Charter Drive is also 50-60% cheaper than cabs and more flexible and convenient than hire cars." Today's deletion was done by Gwen Gale, whom you will have to address with current concerns. Articles are dealt with on a case by case basis and sometimes there does occur inconsistency, because of the nature of the project: see WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. I have just checked the deleted article. It reads like a company brochure, not an encyclopedia article. Furthermore, it fails to verify notability by referencing any secondary reliable sources. If there are indeed further articles of this nature, then they should also be deleted. Initially follow Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion and if that tag is removed, the next recourse is WP:AFD. Such actions should not be done in violation of WP:POINT. I will not be attending to this further. Ty 22:52, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carsharing

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Carsharing, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 07:46, 11 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
