The UCD ChemWiki (http://ChemWiki.ucdavis.edu) has a near identical goal. As much as I love Wikipedia, I am trying to direct academics into vetting the content in a wiki to serve as a textbook alternative. It would be best (IMHO) for the chemistry community to concentrate on a single source.
