Copy and pasting

[edit]

We run "copy and paste" detection software on new edits. One of your edits appear to be infringing on someone else's copyright. See also Wikipedia:Copy-paste. We at Wikipedia usually require paraphrasing. If you own the copyright to this material please follow the directions at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials to grant license.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Still Life (2007 film), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://emol.org/film/archives/stilllife/index.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. You can't use copyright material anyway (see above), but it's also full of unsourced spammy claims
  • awards listed first
  • title in caps
  • unsourced claim this poignant drama
  • unsourced claim Miller gained an even deeper appreciation for art
  • unsourced claim to create an entertainment powerhouse

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on God’s Reasons, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joel A. Miller requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0588626/bio?ref_=nm_ov_bio_sm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The article Joel A. Miller has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Unspecified source/license for File:The Still Life 2007 Film Poster.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:The Still Life 2007 Film Poster.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 22:00, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:The Still Life 2007 Film Poster.jpeg

I have moved what was User:Rifken to User:Rifken/Memoir of a Roadie. Your user poage should contain (if anything it is optional) a description of you as a Wikipedia editor. This can include brief biographical content, lists of Articles crested or edited, Wikipedia to-do lists, statements about Wikipedia interests or views on policy ort philosophy, and so on. See WP:USERPAGE for details on what can and should nto be included. A user page should not be a draft or start for an article, nor look as if it were a draft. Thus, an infobox, a stub tag, and a reference list are all inappropriate on a user page. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 20:14, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Still Life (2007 film) moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, The Still Life (2007 film), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:13, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've moved this back to drafts, because according to your user page you have a conflict of interest (COI) regarding the subject, and you should therefore wait for the AfC review process to complete.
Speaking of which, you need to formally disclose your COI, for this subject and any other that you have, are, or intend to be working on where the same applies (at least Joel A. Miller and Memoir of a Roadie). I will post a separate message below with more info and instructions. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:17, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Rifken. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:17, 23 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I spent hours on Wikipedia with editors in a wikipedia chat forum working on the page. The film was released and the articles giving the film in-depth and reliable reviews are now posted. The film was mostly reviewed through paper media as that was the norm at the time of the release of the film. As many of the articles about the film are in publications that are themselves on Wikipedia I would find them quite credible. Many of them are also the leading publications in Film. I did provide page number, month, and year if anyone chooses to contact the publications they will find information on the articles. The film was released by Warner Bros. so it is not like it was a boutique film done in someone's bedroom fyi.
