Request reason:
Hi, I was asked to add better references to my company listing article, because I only had wikipedia references. Unfortunately I added references to my website, sparking the block. The good news is that I have found the Wikipedia: Article wizard (I would recommend this link be added to every users Sandbox page), and realized that I had not included the “conflict of interest with regard to the following Wikipedia article(s):” as well. So with some luck by following the Wizard my next attempt all will be good next time. Regards Richard Richardgush (talk) 06:37, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You won't be unblocked to just edit about your company. If you want to be a general contributor, please tell what other subjects you want to edit about that are unrelated to your conflict of interest as I note below. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 09:45, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
This user has publicly declared that they have a conflict of interest regarding the Wikipedia article Methvin. |
You aren't going to be unblocked to continue to edit about Methvin or anything related to your conflict of interest, so what will you edit about if unblocked? 331dot (talk) 08:03, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
Hi 331dot,
Sorry why would I not be unblocked, if I follow the Wikipedia wizard I have been introduced to?
Regards

- Wikipedia is interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage(not routine announcements, press releases, staff interviews, etc.) state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability(in this case, the definition of a notable business). Wikipedia is not interested in what a company wants to say about itself. In order for you to be successful, you would need to essentially forget everything you know about Methvin and only write based on the content of independent sources. Most people in your position(and I've seen many over my years here) cannot do that. If you truly believe that you can do that using the Wizard, then I would want to know what other subjects you would edit about as an individual, general Wikipedia contributor and not just a company representative. If you are just here to edit about your company, you won't be unblocked. If you are interested in being a general contributor, I would want to see evidence of a good edit history in other areas before permitting you to submit a draft about Methvin. 331dot (talk) 08:52, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

- I've said everything that I can say, though I am willing to answer more specific concerns. You are free to make another unblock request that a different administrator will review, as well. 331dot (talk) 14:32, 11 November 2019 (UTC)
