A tag has been placed on your user page, User:CatJira/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. | Uncle Milty | talk | 18:26, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Draft:CatJira, and I noticed that your username, "CatJira", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. /wiae /tlk 13:01, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

January 2016[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing, because this account has been used only for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to Wikipedia's content policy. Also, your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is against Wikipedia's policy: an account is for an individual, not a group. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a free advertising service.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of this page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:34, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Hi Jimmfbleak, I would like to appeal for my account to be unblocked. First and foremost I would like to thank you for reviewing the article drafts that I was preparing.

The article prepared is a company page. Intention of the write-up is not for promotional purposes, rather it is a neutral piece of article about CatJira. I have read the guidelines provided https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations. From it I understand that I would need to disclose my relationship with the organisation in my user profile but was unable to find the right steps to do so (am a first time wikipedia user).

With the above in mind, I have also read https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Tesco, which was provided as a sample company page to adhere to. Following the guidelines and the sample provided, the article rejected as well as the permanent suspension I felt is a misunderstanding of my article. Hence this appeal.

If there are additional guidelines and feedback from wikipedia on how I can best contribute organization page to wikipedia, I would gladly comply to it.

Thank you Jimfbleak for taking your time with me. Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Decline reason:

As the block message explains, you are not permitted to use a company name as your username, so please follow the instructions and use the {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} template to choose a new username.

Also, having looked at the now-deleted CatJira article, I see no indication that the company is of sufficient notability for a Wikipedia article. It was only founded in 2015 and does not come close to satisfying the notability standards at WP:NCORP, so I think you will need to give up on trying to create an article about it right now.

Finally, can you really not see that a statement like "With both working in different startups, it was not coincidence coffee discussions sparked the conversation that brought CatJira to life. Over long black and latte, "How can we work better with content creators and leverage on their social media influence"" is blatant marketing speak? If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Thank you and noted on insufficient notability for a Wikipedia article. Will comply to the request to change of username as proposed. Will not be preparing any article on CatJira until it qualifies to be sufficiently notable for a Wikipedia Article. Will mind the language used as well to not be of marketing/advertising language.

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. (Sorry it's a two-part process, but admins like me don't have the ability to rename accounts ourselves.) Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:17, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
