Speedy deletion nomination of Microsystem Technologies
[edit]A tag has been placed on Microsystem Technologies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 14:44, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
status and suggestions
[edit]As reviewing administrator, I did not delete it. But I did remove the paragraph of general description copied from the web page: even if you give us permission according to WP:DCM, the material is not be suitable-as with most such descriptions, it simply restates what the journal covers, listing, as usual, all possible fields. What an article about a journal can contain:
- Full name,& dates of start
- earlier & other titles, with dates
- Standard abbreviations used--make redirects from them.
- publishing & sponsoring body, & earlier publishers & sponsors
- availability on line
- frequency of publication
- no. of articles published a year
- circulation sourced somewhere--default place to get it is Ulrichs
- Name of the editors-in-chief, (but only the eds in chief) with their institutional affiliations -- include earlier ones also
- A list of the major indexing services that cover it -- in particular Web of Science and Scopus
- latest year's impact factor if available
- any actual references providing substantial coverage from 3rd party independent published reliable sources, print or online, but not blogs or press releases, or material derived from press releases.
- a list of the 3 or 4 most influential articles similarly, getting citation figures from Web of Science.
It should not contain
- A list of everyone the editorial board
- names of the staff, except editor in chief
- vague promotional statements about how useful it is for people in the relevant profession
- adjectives of praise
- an external link to other than the main journal web page--and the electronic access site if different.
- and, most important, it must contain no text from the web page description of the journal. This is a copyright violation, and needs to be rewritten. Even if you are prepared to donate copyright according to WP:DCM, it is likely to be unsuitably promotional.
Please adjust the articles for the other springer journals you have entered accordingly. I advise you to do this very quickly, before the articles get nominated for deletion--we have a program that catches such similarities as it did here--I will have trouble catching them all. If any does get deleted, and it meets our general standard of being included in international indexes, let me know, and I can restore it.
I'd advise you not to do journals in large batches, either, it tends to attract notice of those who look for harmful WP:Conflict of Interest, some of whom assume any COI to be harmful. It is possible to do a good job anyway, but many people with COI do not, so we do watch carefully. Please see our FAQ about businesses, other organisations, and articles like this.
If I can give you any help with this, let me know. I work extensively with the subject of scientific journals here--for my background, see my user page. DGG ( talk ) 17:46, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Journal of Thermal Spray Technology
[edit]The article Journal of Thermal Spray Technology has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of notability
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mean as custard (talk) 20:37, 25 August 2014 (UTC)
