Critique of CapZ

The article is free from bias and for the most part is properly cited. The one thing I noticed is that there is no in-text citation for the first reference listed in the reference section. While the article lists the primary function of the CapZ protein, there is no mention of what parts of the cell it affects and how (movement and cell-crawling (filopodia and lamellipodia), scaffolding of autophagosomes, location in z-line of skeletal muscle, etc). There is a brief mention of it's role in cardiac health, but doesn't go into the physiology behind it, which would be helpful. There is also no mention of CapZB or CapZA2 and their function. One thing I would like to add is possible mutations to the CapZ protein and it's effect on function. I would like to go into detail in how CapZ binds and falls off the actin to prevent and allow polymerization (what's the role of PIP2 in inhibiting the binding of CapZ, etc).

Sources

Your sources are well researched, and definitely add important knowledge to the page. I can tell you researched them well, and I particularly like the third and fifth source. They presented their research very clearly, and were highly organized.

Grammer edits

Paragraph 1.... Wonderfully written and composed, only complaint is that you should move the sentence "CapZ is also known to play a role in cell signaling as it regulates PKC activity in cardiac cells.[2]" up to the main paragraph section, it is currently one line below. Also I am not seeing the image referenced in sentence 1...

Next.. Paragraph 2.. Again Wonderfully written, only suggestion would be to modify sentence 1 by moving the word 'that' from in-between 'indicated' and 'there' to in-between 'Proteins' and 'inhibit' Sentence edit is as follows... "Experimentation on chicken muscles have indicated there are certain proteins that inhibit CapZ from binding, including PIP2 and other phospholipids." You might also want to add hyperlinks to ENA and VASP or parenthesis after them with their full names.

Next.. Paragraph 3.. Another great paragraph, I was just unsure what you were writing in the the second sentence "When CapZ is inhibited by regulating factors, microfilament polymerization occursand Re, allowing lamellipodia and filopodia to grow out" particularly in the section "occursand Re," not sure if it was a keyboard error, but just wanted to point it out to you.

Next.. Paragraph 4.. no edits!

Great work, very nicely structured and it was a joy to read, great job! Hope my edit suggestions prove helpful! TeleomerePeer —Preceding undated comment added 02:17, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
