I just noticed that there is a "†" beside Peter Kattuk. I was wondering what it was for? Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather Have a gorilla 08:48, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of premiers of Canadian provinces

[edit]

I'm currently working on the lists of premiers of the Canadian provinces. I can't find references for some of them; seeing that you worked on the lists before, if you could provide some references that'd be great. You can just add them to the references section of each list. For some references, only the years are listed for elections and designation dates, but it'd be nice to have the exact dates. Thanks in advance! Gary King (talk) 19:36, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA Nom

[edit]

Hey, you accidentally put your GA Nom on top, and latest entries should go on the bottom of their sections. I moved it for you, and thought I'd tell you so you knew why I moved it. Thanks, if you have questions ask. --Banime (talk) 00:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alberta election results

[edit]

Hey Cloveious - not sure if you've had cause to notice recently, but abheritage's Map Zone is down more often than it's up these days (the homepage always works, but as soon as you ask it to do anything it times out). It'll be up for a while but then it goes down for weeks, which is a pain in the ass. Anyway, I'm just wondering if you know of any other online source for pre-1997 riding by riding general election results? I figured if anyone would know, it'd be you. Cheers, Sarcasticidealist (talk) 06:06, 14 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And actually, while I'm asking you for stuff anyway, what source do you use for determining what party candidates in pre-1905 NWT elections ran under? Sarcasticidealist (talk) 07:07, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Council of Keewatin

[edit]

Hello. I've just reviewed Council of Keewatin and have put it on hold. Please see the notes on the talk page for more details. Rufous-crowned Sparrow (talk) 00:29, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there, and a happy new year. I added some maps and information about the nations of the natives of the area referred to in the Council of Keewatin article. You started the article with some excellent references. Please edit any of my ramblings, if you wish. I tried to add placenames to the interlake district referred to in the article of which I could find coordinates for. I hope this is of some help to you getting through the notes left on the talk page for your GA review. Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 01:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Me again. The article is through the stage of GA. The last section could still use some work. Would personally like to know where the reserves for the first nations were finally established, I will google for possible maps. If all bands got what they requested or not...to know how they fared after the dissolution of the council. I found the treaty 5 act, with the wishes, but I am not sure if that was the conclusion as well. Do you know? Kind Regards SriMesh | talk 06:30, 8 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please review my new articles

[edit]

Hello "Cloveious",

I have written some new articles on the following old Saskatchewan provincial ridings:

Cypress (former Saskatchewan provincial electoral district), Wynyard (provincial electoral district), Notukeu (electoral district), Cut Knife (electoral district), and Pipestone (Saskatchewan electoral district).

Could you please review them? And, could you add the "WikiProjectBannerShell" box under the "Discussion" tab? Thanks. Jwkozak91 (talk) 19:35, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, File:Doncairnseqbag.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Fair use rationale for File:Doncairnseqbag.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Doncairnseqbag.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rockfang (talk) 17:41, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:YGOurPrarieCommunity.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:YGOurPrarieCommunity.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 07:52, 10 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Chumir campaign brochure.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Chumir campaign brochure.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Orphaned non-free image File:Doncairns.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Doncairns.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:27, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Tlichoflag.svg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F10 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file that is not an image, sound file or video clip (e.g. a Word document or PDF file) that has no encyclopedic use.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File permission problem with File:Paulhinman.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Paulhinman.jpg, which you've attributed to Alberta Alliance Party Caucus Office. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. The article Wendy Bisaro has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
