Making deletion

[edit]

Hi. Just wanted to echo what Basar says below: If you are deleting information, please state why. Deleting information purely because it is negative (eg on the Paul Cain) article) violates Wikipedia's NPOV policy. Cheers. David L Rattigan 08:23, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

[edit]

Hi Researchgate, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. You also might want to consider visiting Wikipedia:New user log and introducing yourself. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page or simply place {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will drop by to help out. Once again, welcome! =)

License tagging for Image:Lonnie.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lonnie.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:04, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

Hello

[edit]

If you would like to delete information from an article, please state why you want to do that. You should also try using the edit summary for every edit you make. Also, remember that Wikipedia attempts to be a verifiable encyclopedia. Citing references is an extremely important aspect of what we do. You may be interesting in reading WP:CITE, WP:V, and WP:MOS. Thank you, and I hope you find those resources useful. --Basar 05:28, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Paul Cain 2 small.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Paul Cain 2 small.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hluup (talk) 09:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
