You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shadowjams (talk) 09:57, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

The article List of bus routes in Haverhill has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unencyclopedic transport article. WP is not a guide or directory.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Charles (talk) 20:27, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Your participation at WP:AFD

Please note that new comments always go at the bottom of a discussion, not the top.[1] It is also best if your arguments to keep or delete an article have some basis in Wikipedia policy. How much information is in an article is not generally considered a valid reason to keep or delete an article, the crux of almost all AFD debates is how much coverage a subject has received in reliable sources. If you have any further questions about AFD please feel free to ask. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:34, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Other people's user pages

I'm sure you mean well, but please stop creating user pages for other editors. It's their business whether they want such pages or not. Thank you. Favonian (talk) 19:29, 15 March 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Wilby

Hi Wilbysuffolk,

thanks for the welcome to editing Wikipedia. I've been doing it a while now, but only minor changes really – I'm a spelling and grammar freak. (I noticed a few typos on your page by the way; it's 'etc.' [for 'et cetera', 'and others'] rather than 'ect.', and you missed an 'e' in 'Replacement'. I'm trying to help – not to be a smartarse.) I may well be in touch re. more complicated changes if they need doing, but generally I really enjoy making these corrections anyway. Specially as there's no work around at the moment…

Cheers!

P.S. If you think I might be able to help in any way, please let me know. As I've mentioned, my spelling and grammar is pretty good – I did my degree in French and can easily translate French - English.

Hi Wilbysuffolk,

I hope you are enjoying NZ. I have a friend who lives in Napier.

Regards, Snaptree

P.S. This image (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Burmese_days.jpg) on the Burmese Days page (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Burmese_Days) is NOT the cover of the novel but rather the title page. Not sure who made the error or how to correct it as I am still a novice. Thanks.  :-)

Suffolk bus routes

Given that there are active editors who seem to believe that any list of bus routes is a travel guide or directory, I recommend starting the article as a draft in your userspace. Make sure that you have lots of well referenced content, ideally including history, before you move it to the main namespace. Look at the other lists of bus routes and take the good points from them. Remember that the more bad lists of bus routes that get deleted, the harder it is to retain the good ones. Thryduulf (talk) 18:04, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Non-free files in your user space

Hey there Wilbysuffolk, thank you for your contributions. I am a bot, alerting you that non-free files are not allowed in user or talk space. I removed some files I found on User:Wilbysuffolk/arc/galloways. In the future, please refrain from adding fair-use files to your user-space drafts or your talk page.

Thank you, -- DASHBot (talk) 05:02, 18 March 2011 (UTC)

Railway station v. railway station

I see you are writing articles abour railway stations. Fine, but here on Wikipedia you will find that someone decided a long time ago to call a railway station e.g, Whatever railway station, not Whatever Railway Station. Personally I was taught to write such titles in capitals and given the option would do it that way. However there are some things that are worth doing and other things that just result in pages and pages of pointless talk page arguments and believe me, this is very much one of the latter. I would just go with the flow on this one were I you. Britmax (talk) 12:29, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

The relevant document is Wikipedia:Naming conventions (UK stations). --Redrose64 (talk) 13:41, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

WikiProject East Anglian Transport

I see that you are trying to start a WikiProject for East Anglian Transport. Please note that there is a formal procedure for proposing WikiProjects, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Council and Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Guide. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:42, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Jonas Eriksson

Your recently placed notability tag on Jonas Eriksson (referee) is erroneous. Please read WP:NFOOTBALL before placing tags like that. The article satisfies the first criteria in the following:

Association football (soccer) figures are presumed notable if they meet the following:

Players, managers and referees who have represented their country in any officially sanctioned senior international competition (including the Olympics) are notable as they have achieved the status of participating at the highest level of football. The notability of these is accepted as they would have received significant coverage as outlined above in the general notability criteria.

I appreciate that you look out for non notable articles, as do I, but this is article is clearly notable according to the criteria. --Reckless182 (talk) 09:58, 25 March 2011 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Renamed user dfghtjd64. You have new messages at Shire Reeve's talk page.
Message added 11:41, 25 March 2011 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Suggestion about speedy deletion tags

Rather than writing your own verbiage for each speedy deletion tag, you might consider placing the criteria-specific tags that have the messaging all done for you already. For example, if an article is about a person and no credible assertion of notability is made, you can use {{db-person}}. This way, the message will contain all the details the author needs to see what is going on, links to the relevant policies, etc. Thanks for all your work! ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 06:27, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Another reason for doing that is to make sure that the page really is speediable - the criteria are deliberately tightly-drawn. It's worth reading WP:CSD carefully, and there is good advice for speedy taggers at WP:10CSD and WP:A7M. Keep up the good work: New Page Patrol needs all the eyes it can get. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:47, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

I haven't deleted this because it is a real user account, though dormant. It had been vandalised, so I have restored the last good version. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:49, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Your RfA

Hello Wilbysuffolk , I'm sorry I just closed your RfA per WP:SNOW, because I don't think you'd have passed, at this time, given the rationales indicated by the opposers and wanted to spare you the bitter, stinging experience an Rfa can be; if you want your RfA to run for the entire week, however, you're of course entitled to revert my closure!
Please, remember you're a valuable Wikipedian and your contributions are much appreciated; do try again, when you have garnered a bit more experience and when you've tackled all the issue highlighted by the opposers. See you around! Salvio Let's talk about it! 11:14, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

I agree - keep at it and come back in a while Brookie :) - he's in the building somewhere! (Whisper...) 12:10, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

As you are not away as stated, could you please now read WP:NPP and WP:CSD and use the correct form of deletion request on Chowder Returns (Fanon). Thank you. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:59, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

April 2011

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 08:30, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for you help

How did you make it a template? --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 02:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC) Actually the v and d buttons do not work for it [2].. Not sure why? --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 02:57, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi, Thanks,.. I have created many pages but no templates.. is there a different ways to go with creating templates? Also thanks for looking into the v and d issue.--Khodabandeh14 (talk) 03:06, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

A3 too early

Hi, I see you tagged Thomas Harper Goodspeed for WP:CSD#A3 only a few minutes after creation. It is advised against tagging articles only just after creation because the author is still in the process of creating the page and is rather BITEY. As stated on the CSD policy:

Thanks, Stickee (talk) 03:25, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Additionally, WP:A3 did not apply to that article: "this criterion doesn't cover a page with an infobox with non-trivial information". ErikHaugen (talk | contribs) 04:08, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Transport in East Anglia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Charles (talk) 10:12, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Transport in East Anglia has internal not external links. Please consider that this makes this page notable. Wilbysuffolk talk 08:25, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Invesinpeople.gif

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Invesinpeople.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude2 (talk) 04:51, 17 April 2011 (UTC)
