Syntax highlighter has stopped working
I notice today that your syntax highlighter script has stopped working. It has been working perfectly up until now, and nothing has changed on my end, so it seems likely that this is a result of this recent change.
Technical details, per Reporting bugs:
- When I edit a page on en.wikipedia, the browser stops responding and Windows Task Manager says that my browser is running 100% on one CPU.
- Any page, eg
- Browser user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:6.2) Goanna/20230715 PaleMoon/32.3.1
(Note that the link on [1] to http://whatsmyuseragent.com/ appears to be no longer valid.) - Skin: MonoBook
- Gadgets enabled:
- Browsing
- Focus the cursor in the search bar on loading the Main Page
- Redirect image links to Commons for files hosted there
- Open external links in a new tab or window
- Reference Tooltips
- Form Wizard
- Watchlist
- (all)
- Editing
- Syntax highlighter
- HotCat
- wikEdDiff
- Add extra buttons to the legacy (2006) editing toolbar
- refToolbar
- Appearance
- Add an [edit] link for the lead section of a page
- Change UTC-based times and dates, such as those used in signatures, to be relative to local time
- Display diffs with the old yellow-and-green colors and design
- Disable animations in the interface
- Show radio buttons to switch between views of certain content, such as some maps
- custom JavaScript or CSS
- web browser extensions

- Sorry for the disruption, I tested with Firefox but I didn't think to test with Pale Moon. I think I've fixed it now. Please let me know if you continue to experience problems. —Remember the dot (talk) 07:26, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
- That seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks.
- (There is a noticeable - but not functionally significant - delay in rendering the colouring when the edit window is opened, which wasn't there before, but otherwise it seems to work correctly.)
