The Edge of Evolution

[edit]

Hello, I've reverted an edit you recently made to The Edge of Evolution. Please add external links to the appropriate section. Reinistalk 13:37, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

On second look, I invite you to read WP:EL and WP:COI. I don't think that linking to your own blog is appropriate in Wikipedia. Reinistalk 14:47, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Potential conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, ReligionProf. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

Thank you for your comment, and also for making edits to the page about me. I had believed that adding links where these had not been provided but where someone else had already made reference to my publications would be appropriate. I apologize.

Thanks for the apology. Two issues: you added publications as well as the links, and external links are not allowed in article text no matter who adds them. A remaining issue is the bibliography section. A bibliography should list sources that are used as inline references in the article text. While the items could potentially be used as references in the article, currently it functions as a list of external links that don't comply with external links policy. Wikipedia:External links. I'm going to move the section to the talk page so that editors can use it to expand the article in the future. - Mnnlaxer | talk | stalk 16:36, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of B. J. Oropeza

[edit]

Hello ReligionProf,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged B. J. Oropeza for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello, ReligionProf. Thank you for your work on Robert S. Heaney. Bastun, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

Hi ReligionProf, nice work on your new article. In my opinion, it would benefit by being added to appropriate categories, such as Biography and Anglicanism, and being included in relevant categories. I would also recommend including an infobox.
