Dominion of Melchizedek Request for Comment
[edit]You have shown some interest in Dominion of Melchizedek, so I wanted to let you know that I created the following RFC. Bollar 13:50, August 6, 2005 (UTC)
*Talk:Dominion of Melchizedek (Also Malpelo Island, Clipperton Island, Bokak Atoll, Rotuma, Antarctica, Microstate, Dominion, Micronation) - POV over the validity of Dominion of Melchizedek's sovereignty, and claims over numerous small islands in the Pacific plus Antarctica.
NICE Editing :o

The "External links" section
[edit]I'm glad to see someone expanding the Americans with disabilities article and I look forward to reading more tomorrow.
I hate to be nitpicky, but the sections "External links" and "See also" are standard to most pages on the Wikipedia and always have the first word capitalized and the second word in lower case. A template such as Template:CompactTOC5 expects to see those sections with that capitalization, so that the links will work. -- Reinyday 01:10, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
Sorry about the "Ext. Links" mini-war, heh. Wouldn't be the first linguistic style the Internet and wiki specifically managed to mangle and change by technical shortcomings and sheer proliferance of the alternatives. Like the double space after periods, found in all books and newspapers until about the mid-90s. It looks like this - - compared to this - -. See? At least wiki gives the ability to get rid of the poor man's emlaut :-) I refer to — vs --.
I didn't have time to finish editing Americans with disabilities but I probably will finish it tomorrow, along with a seperate MHMRA article yet to be created. I didn't anticipate that migrating the remaining 2005 archives from the old to new cleanup process would take so long. The remaining april articles were quite screwed up, lol!
Cheers, HopeSeekr of xMule (Talk) 01:40, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
I removed your addition of this article into the Category:Overseas Chinese groups. Not all Asian Americans are of Chinese descent. In addition the article Chinese American is already in this category. — J3ff 23:46, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
- Of course not all Asians are Chinese. But don't you think that if you were navigating the Overseas Chinese category, you would want to be able to access the Asian American article? -- Rachel 23:48, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
- Not necessarily; there are people of Chinese descent living all over the world, many of them in the United States. However, not everyone searching through that category may be interested in Asian Americans. I feel it is inappropriate to use such a category because the Asian American article is easily accessible through links in the Chinese American article. — J3ff 23:53, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
- Ok. -- Rachel 23:58, 9 August 2005 (UTC)
The "Lists" category
[edit]Hello Reinyday. Sorry, didn't know it was wrong to use that category. Why do the articles need to be put in sub categories? Thanks, --Gramaic | Talk 08:14, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- The "Lists" category, like all categories, exists to help people find what they want. There are thousands of lists, so having them all in one category doesn't help people navigate. By separating them, people can find what they want, like Lists of people or Nature lists. Cheers. -- Reinyday, 11 August 2005
Categories
[edit]Hi, I just spent hours cleaning out the list of articles needing a category. Please don't move the entirety of the PR People category there. A bot will move them when a new category name is decided on. Thanks! -- Reinyday, 15 August 2005
Hi, actually I only tagged 2 articles with {{CatNeeded}}, so I'm pretty sure me doing the rest of those articles had nothing to do with the cleanup of the category you mentioned. There is no future directory, that I am aware of, as the instructions are to just remove Category:Puerto Rican people from the articles. The majority of them already had other categories. As for a bot doing them, I have been doing the Cfd cleanup for quite some time, and its pretty much what I do, a bot wouldn't bother to flag them if it removed the only cat, nor would it fix minor problems as it goes. Thanks for your message. ∞Who?¿? 13:48, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, btw, I am removing the cat's that you re-added, as per WP:CFD, they are fine sitting in cleanup, or another suitable cat can be found, however that cat will be deleted, and its precedent is to be removed, so please do not stick it back in that category, as there is NO future category. Thanks. ∞Who?¿? 13:54, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
- Hi, I just wanted to appologize if I came off a bit rash. Its difficult to do some of the mass re-cat's, and I try to do the best I can in proper cat'ing and fixing errors as I go. That particular CFD was not so cut & dry. We collaborated and thought it should probably be deleted, but I compared it to other cat's and kept it with its current config. Thanks for your input. Cheers. ∞Who?¿? 01:56, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me another message. I really appreciate the effort, and feel so much better. I look forward to getting a chance to work with you on a future project! -- Reinyday, 02:00, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Hey, just a heads up, there are a lot of articles with only one cat, the one I'm removing :( So just to let you know, I'm not "dumping" them in {{CatNeeded}}, just figured its better there than with no cat, if I have time, I plan on going back and cleaning them up. Unfortunately, the users who run the bots, arent always around, so a few of us do most of the re-cat'ing done in CFD, plus the bots just remove cats, its too time consuming for the users to have them find suitable replacements. ∞Who?¿? 21:45, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up. These articles can all be put in Category:Freeware. -- Reinyday, 21:54, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- The open source software can go into Category:Free software. -- Reinyday, 21:58, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
- K, thanks for the cat. ∞Who?¿? 22:02, 17 August 2005 (UTC)
Discussions
[edit]I find your opinion interesting, but I just wanted to remind you that instead of having to write out your name again and again, you can sign your comments with a simple ~~~~. I don't want to sound nitpicky, it doesn't bother me, just a friendly suggestion for convenience's sake. Happy editing, CanadianCaesar 10:16, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice, but I'm quite aware of that feature, and I don't use it on purpose, except in rare instances, like here. -- Rachel 04:40, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Your sig
[edit]Hi reinyday - I've been noticing your sig on WP:CFD... this is probably something you know all about but... you do know about being able to use four tildes (~~~~) to sign, don't you? Or have you done some fancy trick with your signature to stop it linking back to your user page? Grutness...wha? 10:22, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- Most people don't know that you can get just the time stamp by typing five tildes (~~~~~), which is what I used to do:
- -- Reinyday, ~~~~~
- Now, I've edited my preferences and selected the "Raw signatures" box and changed my nickname to "-- Reinyday," so I only have to type four tildes (~~~~) to sign my unlinked name. -- Reinyday, 16:36, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
- Ah. that explains it. Makes it harder to get to your user page, but cut and paste does the job anyway. Makes for an interesting looking sig, though slow-on-the-uptake people like me may still mistake you for a newbie occasionally :) Grutness...wha? 23:43, 1 October 2005 (UTC)
Thanks about Hungarian Jewish History
[edit]Hi Reinyday: Thanks for the reminder about the template. I was trying to alert the Wikipublic that the history stopped in the 1880s and needs to be updated to include the Holocaust and Communist periods. I mentioned this on the talk page. Hope that explains why I used the template. FeanorStar7
FeanorStar7, thank you so much for your kind explanation. It is greatly appreciated! I've restored the template. -- Reinyday, 02:34, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
Update template
[edit]Thanks for the template Reinyday! I was looking for such a template on Wikipedia:Template messages but couldn't find it. Thats one page that needs updating ... Is there any another page with a list of templates that can be used on wikipedia? it seems they're not organised very well. Yodakii 05:10, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Yodakii, there are so many templates, it is certainly hard to find a good list. I often refer to Wikipedia:Cleanup resources. You can also list all templates alphabetically. -- Reinyday, 03:05, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
Template:Awards2000s
[edit]Y'know, I'm just thinking, considering the number of awards that are presented every year, would a template for each year be more appropriate? Zoe 06:41, August 28, 2005 (UTC)
Zoe, that's a great idea, but that template is just for the Awards by year categories. Because the content varies, most awards have their own specific templates, such as {{Grammy Award years}} and {{GovernorGeneralsAwards}}. -- Reinyday, 02:38, 29 August 2005 (UTC)
Template:Infobox Lithuanian municipality
[edit]Hi, thanks for taking interest in my homeland! However, I created a more elaborate version of it at User:Renata3/elderates and I started implementing it today (as infobox savivaldybe). I am sorry that we doubled our efforts. But thank you and I wish your baby all the best :) Renata3 18:57, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
Environment
[edit]You recently said on CfD that you would be able to list which articles should be in Category:Environmentalism and which should be in Category:Ecology (from Category:Environment). Could you help out with this? Almost all of the articles were moved in to Environmentalism. --Kbdank71 13:39, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- With pleasure! -- Reinyday, 20:38, 6 September 2005 (UTC)
- If anyone cares, I am also filing many of them under Category:Environmental science. -- Reinyday, 05:05, 9 September 2005 (UTC)

Outsiders' opinions wanted
[edit]Hi, I just though I might ask you. Currently there is a debate whether to move Partitions of Poland to Partitions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The first one is shorter and looks like it is more commonly used. The second one is politically & historically correct. Could you voice your opinion on the talk page? Because now it's all Lithuanians and Polish who fight each other :) We need someone "unbiased." I would very much appreciate it. Renata3 12:51, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Supermarket categories
[edit]Could I trouble you to reconsider your vote on the supermarkets categories on Categories for deletion. Renaming them all "in" would not be standardisation as the policy for companies is that the "of" form should be used. Thank you. Carina22 00:31, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:El Machino.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:El Machino.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

Catagorization of Category:Sports occupations
[edit]I'd like to know your rationale for making Category:Sports occupations a sub-catagory of Category:People by occupation. The result is that now People by occupation has two sports-related categories, Sports occupations and People known by their association with sports and hobbies (or something like that). This is confusing and I'd like to put it back to the way it was. --JeffW 17:29, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- Sure. Please put it back. I was just trying to be helpful. I think the problem is that a lot of articles in Category:Sports occupations belong in the other category. -- Reinyday, 17:46, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- I agree and I'll try to fix that. --JeffW 18:06, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
Maitreya Merge
[edit]Noticed that you moved some content over from World Teacher to the Maitreya page. Maitreya (Share International) might be a better place for that stuff, since it's about the Share International view of Maitreya; there was a movement afoot in the Maitreya page to keep the main page focused on the traditional Buddhist view of Maitreya, and keep the detailed information about other claimants on their own page. The Share International view of Maitreya doesn't really share a lot with the Buddhist version except for the name and the idea that they are a teacher who is going to appear sometime in the future; of course, Buddhist scriptures also say that no one will remember Shakyamuni Buddha anymore by the time the "real" Maitreya appears in the world. Thanks! --Clay Collier 00:37, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
- Great idea! I made the move... -- Reinyday, 01:03, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

it will keep the three boxes that float to the right from overlapping the table, regardless of how long your Currently Working On list becomes in the future. Aside from that, you have a very nice user page - clean, simple, and informative. Koweja 00:52, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
