Speedy deletion nomination of KZEW 98FM
[edit]Hello Reelgeorge,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged KZEW 98FM for deletion, because it seems to be promotional, rather than an encyclopedia article.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

- Hello, Reelgeorge,
- Unfortunately, you contested this article deletion after the article was already deleted. If you have questions about the deletion, you can go to the User Talk page of the admin who deleted the article and ask for more information. Or you can go to the the Teahouse if you want more information about Wikipedia's deletion policies. Liz Read! Talk! 05:10, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- Perhaps the opening line wasn't clear " Although KZEW was a short-lived radio station in Dallas-Ft. Worth, they set the tone of album rock for the next thirty years in the area"
- Beyond that - the last entry on this encyclopedic entry was from 1989 with " KZEW has dropped AOR after 17 years with the format." It was the death of the station, the changing of the call letters, the end of its existence. The station has been gone for 30+ years. What promotion would be served from this historic timeline? Currently there are over 20,000 fans of the station participating in several fan groups on social media - all celebrating a station that hasn't broadcast since 1989. What promotion for this deceased station did you anticipate ? 97.98.197.87 (talk) 16:32, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
- About that promotion angle - My listing was for a defunct station, but there are many that are currently on air among Wiki pages.
- Here's a similarly historic radio station that is actually currently broadcasting. Their page is similar to mine, a history of the station.
- and another
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/WWKB
- and another
- https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/KCBQ
- The only difference is they tell you what they are doing TODAY (promotion?) I say the station went off the air in 1989. Do I need to be more clear in the text? Seems that a lot of radio stations have pages here. Reelgeorge (talk) 02:34, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
