Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Mission San Antonio de Padua. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 18:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I went through a large number of articles on your list of contributions and removed the link to seemonterey. I see it as being a commercial organization; the link is commercial promotion. Binksternet (talk) 18:59, 10 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
A couple more seemontereys taken out. The only places I think are appropriate for a Monterey County Chamber of Commerce link are articles about Monterey county attractions (should have a capital 'C' in county) and Monterey County Chamber of Commerce. You used appropriate Chamber of Commerce pages as references to support the text in the body of a couple of articles; this is a perfectly valid way to employ the URL. Perhaps you should concentrate on adding references if your aim is to put seemonterey pages in more articles. Binksternet (talk) 02:35, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a commercial organization. It's a nonprofit founded by the cities of Monterey County to provide tourism information. Would you like to see the nonprofit certification? Rednikki (talk) 18:12, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'd argue that tourism information isn't always what the article is about. I have seen that the seemonterey page sometimes provides good additional information about the subject of the article, and in those instances it can serve as a fine reference. Binksternet (talk) 18:33, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
great, thanks! Rednikki (talk) 18:49, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hey Red,

I am glad you are being transparent, that is really good. Not quite sure why you posted in some of the places you did.

You've tempted me now to go and sub the monterey site :) SimonTrew (talk) 22:58, 11 March 2009 (UTC) keep going[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of ambassadors of New Zealand to Turkey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Andrea Smith (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:01, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
