Veritas

[edit]

Thanks for your edits to the Veritas (political party) article, they add useful content to the article.

If I could maybe offer you a little advice, then could you please add new content to the main article prior to the 'external links' subheading (shown by '==External Links==' in the editing window), then it would integrate better with the rest of the article. Where you are currenlty adding content appears at the bottom of the page, and may not be noticed by a casual reader.

Also, if you could provide a source for this information, for instance a webpage, (hence allowing verification) then that would also be most appreciated.

Good luck editing Wikipedia! -- Neo 13:44, 23 September 2005 (UTC) notedReadallaboutit 13:55, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Harlow additions

[edit]

You added to the following text to the infobox in the Harlow article.

2005 May Election third recount, Veritas Party candidate Tony Bennett, Harry Cichy Veritas Officer at Election recount.

I reverted your edit because this information does not belong in the infobox. I tried to move it in to the main article, but if you'll forgive me, I didn't really understand what information it was supposed to convey. Perhaps you could rewrite it in to the main article text?
Thanks for your time. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 20:43, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

There was a third recount at Harlow durring the General Election, this was a very unusual event the BBC,SKY & Other press and media covered the whole event.Readallaboutit 13:58, 8 October 2005 (UTC) I was also the appointed Veritas official to watch over this recount at Harlow,Harry Cichy.Readallaboutit 14:19, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Writing style

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia! Could you please read the Wikipedia:style guide? It would greatly help other editors if you could use Wikipedia standard style in your contributions. Examples of this include writing in complete sentences rather than sentence fragments, following standard punctuation rules, and linking key terms at most once in each section of the article. It would also help if you followed the Wikipedia convention of not signing text in articles; signed comments are meant to be used only in talk pages. -- The Anome 07:23, 4 October 2005 (UTC) NotedReadallaboutit 13:59, 8 October 2005 (UTC) I am a founding member of the Veritas members Association Harry Cichy.Readallaboutit 14:17, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Veritas Members Association

[edit]

Would you please rewrite the Veritas Members Association article in encyclopedic style, please? (See my comment above.) At the moment it is a list of events, with no connecting narrative. -- The Anome 07:51, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've had a go at it. If you like, you can reply to other editors' comments by editing this page. -- The Anome 08:15, 4 October 2005 (UTC)noted.Readallaboutit 14:08, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Colin Brown

[edit]

Regarding Colin Brown; I've now tidied this article up. At the moment, your articles are written in telegraphese. I would greatly appreciate it if you would write in complete sentences: sentences need a subject, an object, and a verb; anything without all three of these is a sentence fragment at best. -- The Anome 08:25, 4 October 2005 (UTC) Noted will try and correct, my source is Colin Brown Veritas candidate for Leicester East.Readallaboutit 14:06, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

County

[edit]

Regarding your recent edits to County: "County Watch United Kingdom" is, obviously, not the plural of county. Why did you put that particular text in that particular place? Also, I note that you are still writing in sentence fragments and signing your edits. Do you read these comments at all? -- The Anome 08:52, 4 October 2005 (UTC) Yes I do read and much appreciate your comments, Anthony Bennett was the Harlow candidate for the Veritas party & a founding member of Veritas party, also the secreatary of County Watch,Readallaboutit 13:53, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please don't copy from other sources: your edits to Patrick Eston are taken from http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/9-27-2005-77642.asp This is against Wikipedia's Wikipedia:Copyright policy, and you are told not to do it on every single edit submit form.

In my opinion, your recent editing here currently verges on vandalism. Can you please improve your editing? -- The Anome 10:06, 4 October 2005 (UTC) Will try and improve my editing.Readallaboutit 14:10, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop making apparently irrelevant edits

[edit]

At the moment, I am spending a considerable amount of time cleaning up after your edits. Please stop adding lists of Veritas resignations to apparently unrelated articles such as County Watch. If you think this is appropriate, please let me know your reasons by editing this page. Can you also tell me why you are ignoring these messages, which are clearly indicated by a bright orange box at the top of each page you view? -- The Anome 10:18, 4 October 2005 (UTC) Anthony Bennett resigned from Veritas party was a founding member of Veritas party and is the secretary of County Watch, my source is Anthony Bennett ( Tony) x researcher to Robert Kilroy-Silk these items are most definetly linked.Readallaboutit 14:04, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re your edit to Category:Pressure groups. Adding the name of the article, or even a link to it, will not add it to the category. You first need to create the article, then add the category tag to the article. Please read Wikipedia:Tutorial to learn about how to edit. -- The Anome 10:23, 4 October 2005 (UTC) noted.Readallaboutit 14:07, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you signed the article you wrote on Harry Cichy. I wanted to let you know that you should only sign posts you make on talk pages, not on article contributions.
This is just a hunch, but you wouldn't happen to know or be Harry Cichy would you? Yes.Readallaboutit 14:09, 8 October 2005 (UTC)If so, please read the Wikipedia:Autobiography guideline. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) 14:26, 4 October 2005 (UTC) Sorry just getting to know this siteReadallaboutit 13:50, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Corporate scandals

[edit]

Hi there,

I have made a note on Talk:Corporate scandal to explain why I have removed your recent edits from the corporate scandal page. It may make sense to add Hoover free flights promotion to the list, and to add the additional information you provided on the Hoover free flights page rather than on the corporate scandal page. However, the copyright issues with the Hoover free flights page must be fixed before it makes sense to add it to the corporate scandals list.

Since you are still relatively new to Wikipedia, I invite you to tell us about yourself and familiarize yourself with the Manual of Style, especially the section on "spaces after the end of a sentence", which makes clear that at least one space should be used. (This section also implies that encyclopedia entries should be written in full sentences.) If you want to make notes to be expanded later into full sentences for an article entry, I suggest keeping your notes on the talk page.

Please let me know if you have any questions! Mamawrites 10:05, 8 October 2005 (UTC) Many thanks for your advice I am Harry Cichy the consumer activist most connected to the Hoover free flight promotion, most of the information regarding Hoover free flights comes from me. Hope this helps a little I have also written many article on the UK Whitegoods site you quote under wahersclean.Readallaboutit 14:16, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is not sufficient to claim that you wrote the article on another site. The other site where you have published something must give permission for you to reuse it, so that this encyclopedia cannot get sued for copyright violations. In any case, the article at UK Whitegoods is actually a reprint of a BBC article which you did not write. We can refer to that article as a reference, or selectively quote from it "with the article's exact text in quotation marks like this" and then list it as a reference, but we cannot simply copy and paste it into the encyclopedia.
I have done major cleanup on Harry Cichy and on Hoover free flights promotion/Temp and I hope that you can follow the example given there to begin cleaning up edits you have made to other encyclopedia articles, like Sandy Jack. Please try to clean up what you have already written -- before you edit any other articles! We all correct each others' typographical errors occasionally, but you are creating big messes in several different articles and making a lot of other work for others to clean up.
If you have other questions for me, please ask them on my talk page (click on that link, and then click on the + at the top of my page to edit and leave me a message. Mamawrites 15:47, 8 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits are still problematic

[edit]

Sir, I beg you, stop making edits that are not written in full sentences! Please read the Wikipedia:Manual of Style! Otherwise, your contributions to the Wikipedia will be deleted! Mamawrites & listens 21:53, 23 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Eston

[edit]

Please stop adding information to this article which is not directly relevant, relating instead to Veritas; and remember there is no need to add links to a "see also" section when they are already covered in such a brief article. Warofdreams talk 13:28, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have asked you repeatedly to engage in discussion about your edits. If you believe they are useful, you should be prepared to justify them. If you do not believe they are useful, they constitute vandalism. Warofdreams talk 02:44, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly urge you to heed these attempts to communicate. We've been cleaning up the articles in accordance with style guidelines, and you have been reverting without comment. Morwen - Talk 13:42, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you even reading these notices? Morwen - Talk 13:55, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We do not need to know who Michael Barrymore's agent and press secretary are. Unless they are significant in themselves and have come to public knowledge for their contribution to his career (they haven't), then this sort of information is irrelevant. David | Talk 09:17, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To 'Readallaboutit'. Please can you refrain from adding ever single press quote by Terry Lubbock or Anthony Bennett to the Michael Barrymore article. Otherwise the article will be too swamped with Lubbock stuff. Keep it concise. Thanks! --highgater 17:02, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
