Welcome to the 2014 WikiCup!
Hello Rcsprinter123, and welcome to the 2014 WikiCup! Your submission page can be found here. The competition will begin at midnight tonight (UTC). There have been a few small changes from last year; the rules can be read in full at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring, and the page also includes a summary of changes. One important rule to remember is that only content on which you have completed significant work, and nominated, in 2014 is eligible for points in the competition- the judges will be checking! As ever, this year's competition includes some younger editors. If you are a younger editor, you are certainly welcome, but we have written an advice page at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Advice for younger editors for you. Please do take a look. Any questions should be directed to one of the judges, or left on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup. Signups will close at the end of January, and the first round will end on 26 February; the 64 highest scorers at that time will make it to round 2. Good luck! Bus portal redirect
Hi, I am wondering whether P:Bus transport is a useful shortcut, given it is much longer than P:Bus and P:Buses. http://stats.grok.se/en/latest/P:Bus_transport shows it doesnt have many uses per month, but it isnt insignificant either. (Who is typing that? :) Just wondering. John Vandenberg (chat) 12:30, 30 December 2013 (UTC)
- Hi John; the reason I created that shortcut is because the category for assessed bus articles is Category:Bus transport articles by importance, so I was reusing the name as a kind of standard whole-project phrase. But - redirects are cheap. Happy new year! Rcsprinter (cackle) @ 00:43, 31 December 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks; that makes sense. Happy New Year to you too. John Vandenberg (chat) 00:06, 1 January 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to List of Wisconsin numbered highways may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

DYK for Salmson S4
On 12 February 2014, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Salmson S4, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that at the 30th Paris Motor show in 1936, the Salmson S4-DA was exhibited without any body? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Salmson S4. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |
