[edit]Hello, I'm Wesoree. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions—specifically this edit to Barrington, Illinois—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. -- Wesoree (talk·contribs) 00:06, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah, it looks better. I live in Barrington and have visited the library many times.
- Note that it doesn’t look like it was deleted, just changed a little. So it wasn’t really “reverted” because it’s still there. Rc2barrington (talk) 02:57, 29 April 2023 (UTC)
Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Add a Fact survey and thank you
[edit]Thank you for testing out the Add A Fact browser extension! This extension was developed as an experiment by the Future Audiences team at the Wikimedia Foundation to learn about new ways of contributing to Wikipedia from outside of our website/apps.
We are planning to wrap up this experiment this December, sunsetting the extension and publishing our findings on-wiki. We’d like to invite you to take part in an exit survey to tell us more about your experience of trying out the extension, and to share any ideas you have about how to support new ways of contributing to Wikipedia. The survey is anonymous (see the survey privacy statement) and should take about 10–15 minutes to complete.
You can take the Goole Forms survey here.
Kind regards, MPinchuk (WMF)

Your user page is problematic
[edit]Per WP:SMI you should not have "CSS and other formatting codes that disrupt the MediaWiki interface, for example by preventing important links or controls from being easily seen or used
" on your user page. The table you've used to place your infoboxes means that on the default skin on the desktop site, most of the controls to the right of the page cannot be seen on your user page, such as the user contributions link for logged in users. While I'm technically allowed to fix this myself, I'll leave this up to you. I suggest you simple remove, the table, there's no real reason to use one. But if you want to continue to use a table, please modify it so it doesn't block the controls on the right of the page. You can probably do this by reducing the number of columns but perhaps you can ask for technical help elsewhere for other suggestions. Nil Einne (talk) 09:42, 25 December 2024 (UTC)
