Hi, and thank you for your contributions. Rather than hit you with a templated warning, I thought I would just ask you nicely not to add external links to articles, especially with an edit summary like 'Added external link, do not revert'. WP:EL explains in detail why we are not looking for external links, in general. Far better if you can summarise the information in the link, and use the link as a reference, if it satisfies WP:RS, our policy on reliable sources. Let me know if I can be any help to you. --John 03:07, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Iceland. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Your link is being removed because it appears to be a blog or something similar, which are specifically prohibited by our External links guidelines (#12). You can be blocked for repeated spamming.
