Thoughtcrime
[edit]The article Legality of Holocaust denial has Thoughtcrime in the see also list, should that be removed? Asked this because i see you removed Thoughtcrime in the see also of Bans on Nazi symbols. Adinar0012 (talk) 14:44, 1 January 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, because Legality of Holocaust denial doesn't appear to be related to "1984" in any way. I have now removed this link in the "see also" section. RaschenTechner (talk) 21:43, 1 January 2025 (UTC)

Re removed content from Saber Bamatraf
[edit]Hello RaschenTechner,
Thank you for your feedback regarding my edit on Saber Bamatraf. My recent edits were intended to remove several instances of “The” within wikilinks (in the sources) because they were interfering with proper linking to the intended source entities (e.g. using 'Institute of…' instead of 'The Institute of…' within [[ ]]). Additionally, I eliminated a duplicated named source reference by consolidating it so that it is cited only once, with subsequent mentions using the short form.
I also adjusted the short description from “Cultural activist and Musical artist” to “Musical artist and Cultural activist” to better reflect the article’s emphasis, as the subject is primarily recognised as a musician. Furthermore, I added the website and removed some extraneous "=" signs from the section titles to improve the flow of the subsections.
I appreciate your vigilance, and I will ensure that I include a detailed edit summary in the future. Please let me know if you would prefer that I revert my edits, or if you will do so.
Thanks! Wikiyem (talk) 00:10, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
"Not helpful"
[edit]is not an explanatory edit summary. According to the consensus policy, all edits should be explained (unless the reason for them is obvious)—either by clear edit summaries, or by discussion on the associated talk page--especially when reverting (undoing) the actions of other editors.
Please explain with specificity why you reverted here. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Eliezer_Ben-Yehuda&diff=prev&oldid=1273567370
For example, the images are now in accord with images MOS. Why would you revert that?
The caption that said it could have been in 2023 is obviously not correct. He was dead by 1923. Why would you restore that clearly incorrect assertion?
What else was "not helpful," and why was it "not helpful" in your view? 2603:7000:2101:AA00:64CE:DEFC:ABD2:FF6E (talk) 00:26, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- I meant that the "who immigrated to Jerusalem in 1881, when it was ruled by the Ottoman Empire" part was unsourced. I also didn't remove the caption you are talking about or at least didn't notice it. You have also removed some content in line 66 without stating why. I didn't mean to remove the images, you can re-add them. RaschenTechner (talk) 00:45, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- If that's all, why didn't you instead add a cite needed tag, rather than delete that and delete all of the other appropriate revisions? And items like that may perhaps be OK without a cite, but its a fine line. I will look for the policy reference. I would suggest that for now you self revert, and tag as cite needed. And lmk here what content you believe was removed.--2603:7000:2101:AA00:64CE:DEFC:ABD2:FF6E (talk) 00:56, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
- Alright, I'm going to do it. RaschenTechner (talk) 00:58, 3 February 2025 (UTC)

- Thanks. I provided two refs. BTW, if the material is in the below text (which it is), and refs there support it (unclear - I could not tell if the Haaretz ref in the sentence after this was mentioned in the text below did so), then usually no ref is needed in the lede. But since that was not clearly the case, I provided a couple of refs. Thanks for clearing this up. Happy new year. 2603:7000:2101:AA00:64CE:DEFC:ABD2:FF6E (talk) 05:22, 3 February 2025 (UTC)
