User talk:RandomOldGuyHistorian
Hello, I'm Adolphus79. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Law enforcement response to the 2021 United States Capitol attack seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Adolphus79 (talk) 20:25, 16 September 2021 (UTC)
- Hi RandomOldGuyHistorian, I want to reiterate the above point about our WP:NPOV] policy. You may also want to read WP:BLP. Firefangledfeathers (talk) 01:34, 29 September 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm RFZYNSPY. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Law enforcement response to the 2021 United States Capitol attack, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. This reversion came about by your last edit's description of Ashli Babbit as a terrorist. Listen, you're doing the right thing by being bold in your edits but since the edits are unsourced, contain BLP violations, and are evidently controversial you should stop making those edits and instead try to reach a consensus on the talk page. If you need help figuring out how to do that let me know. RFZYNSPY talk 22:07, 29 September 2021 (UTC)
Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Law enforcement response to the 2021 United States Capitol attack. Discretionary sanctions alerts
[edit]This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.
You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.
For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
