[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you.
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Tobacco marketing and African Americans, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Please don't change spellings inside direct quotes or inside reference titles. Meters (talk) 00:33, 27 December 2017 (UTC)
Please explain your contributions using a descriptive edit summary. Changing information on Wikipedia (such as numbers and dates) without explanation, as you did at Euphemism, may be confused with vandalism. Please stop making these changes. Don't change spellings or hyphenations just because you prefer a different version or think that you know better. From what I have seen you don't know better. And don't ever change direct quotes, the titles of published sources, or material that is sourced unless you verify the original source (I'm assuming that you are not an expert in Proto-Indo-European language and didn't read the source before you changed *skined- to *skinned- )[1] Meters (talk) 00:51, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for File:Scrippelle.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Scrippelle.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (Talk • Contribs • Owner) 12:45, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
Dates
[edit]Can you please stop adding commas in-between the month and year of dates, as this goes against policy at MOS:DATE. -- AxG / ✉ 17:15, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- I agree, and would make the same general observation about commas in text. Many are unnecessary, and disrupt the flow of the sentence. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 13:08, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
Addition of definite and indefinite articles
[edit]Please take greater care when you think to add definite and indefinite articles to the prose. In some cases the original text was entirely proper, and read better without, the article. (For example, "through a process known as retrocession" is worse with an indefinite article before "retrocession".) In other instances the change is just wrong, e.g., the definite article before the name of a court case - "the Supreme Court held in the District of Columbia v. Heller". Rather than make these changes mechanically, you should take care to read the text after your edit to ensure that it is, in fact, better - and correct. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 13:06, 20 July 2018 (UTC)
I am noticing that this is still a problem. Might you consider avoiding this type of edit? Thanks! Larry Hockett (Talk) 17:01, 2 August 2019 (UTC)

Nice article, please expand a little more, provided that you have the sources to do it. I am not concerned about notability, given what the article says, but its expansion will be good to the reader as to what exactly her work on womens' rights was, as well as some more detail within her practice as a lawyer. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Maria Bredow
[edit]Hello Randfal2,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Maria Bredow for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Nice work! Quick tip: When you create articles, put the following coding in them, so that the references will display properly:
== References ==
{{reflist}}It should be put after the normal prose and sections, but before an external link section, categories, and nav templates. I've already added this for you in this case, and I think others have for all of the previous articles you created.

Disambiguation link notification for September 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Swisscom, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Global 2000 (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Deletion discussion about Sergei Lemberg
[edit]Hello, Randfal2,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Sergei Lemberg should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sergei Lemberg .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks,

Renate Lenz-Fuchs
[edit]"Renate Lenz-Fuchs (born April 19, 1910 in Diez, died June 23, 2001 ibid)..."
Since ibid means "same as the previous reference", and there is no previous reference, it raises the strong suspicion that the text has been copied from somewhere and is probably a copyright violation. Could you clarify please? Cabayi (talk) 10:15, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
- I see from the German article's history that de:User:Färber used it to mean that she was born and died in the same town. Ibid is for references, nothing else, and certainly not birthplaces. Please be more careful with your translations. Cabayi (talk) 10:32, 23 September 2018 (UTC)
Frida Katz
[edit]Hi and thanks for creating Frida Katz. Please note that when you create an article based on a translation of an article on another language Wikipedia (nl:Frida Katz in this case), you must give attribution to the original source. Do have a look through WP:CWW and follow the instructions at Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. Bennv3771 (talk) 05:48, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
- I see that this issue has already been brought up on your talk page before, and a quick look through your previous articles shows that you've been repeatedly translating articles without attribution. Providing attribution is a copyright requirement and repeated copyright violations can get you blocked from editing. So please take note of this. Bennv3771 (talk) 05:50, 15 October 2018 (UTC)
Hi Bennv3771 -- Can you please clarify what you mean about "without attribution"? I cite some of the original references. I see from "Copying within Wikipedia", and in the future, I'll mention the original source in the edit notes. To be clear, I've been trying to add stubs in English for various notable people with non-English pages. Randfal2 (talk) 17:08, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
[edit]Thank you for your recent articles, including Maria Staniszkis, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 10:31, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
