My RFA

[edit]
Thank You,
Ramitmahajan/Archive 12 for your Support!
Thank you for your support in my RfA, which closed at 111 / 1 / 2. I am humbled and rather shocked to see such kind comments and for it to reach WP:100. Please feel free to leave a note if I have made a mistake or if you need anything, I will start out slow and tackle the harder work once I get accustomed to the tools. Thank you once more, I simply cannot express in words my gratitude.

[edit]

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship which closed successfully last night. Feel free to let me know if I can help you with something or if I have made a mistake. I would also like to encourage you to vote often (just in case you don't) on other candidates since we need more admins. Happy editing, Garion96 (talk) 23:53, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

We need help in Wikipedia: WikiProject Protected areas of India. We want to add this wikiproject to the Wikiproject India banner. We have already created a base template. Other helps also needed. Re:Delhi

[edit]

Yes, it did not need huge work, thankfully. Minor changes, vandal fighting, working per suggestions, persuasion and patience! Now please continue to keep watch on the article, as you have been. I may get even more infrequent in WP in near future :( Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:35, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keeping watch is easier than the editing:) so will definitely keep an eye... Though we definitely need more FA writers like you, but real life is important — Lost(talk) 10:37, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thanks for your work at Wiki! It's a great resource because of people like you. I'd like to let you know I just posted some links to support nobility like you asked. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you. Tomdwo1 06:27, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Need help

[edit]

I see you're an admin, so I need your help. Some other user accused me of "trolling" and blocked me. I don't know what ryulong has against me, but to block me for reverting one of his edits is a bit going overboard. I requested unblock, but he'll prolly refuse so I ask you handle this. --Wrongporch 23:01, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners

[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 03:11, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks

[edit]

Hi, Lostintherush, I just wanted to thank you for your support on my RfA, which was successful with a final tally of 61/0/2. I'm honored at the trust the community has placed in me and hope my conduct as an administrator will justify that trust. If you have any comments about my use of the tools I would be glad to hear from you on my talk page. Thanks again! Heimstern Läufer 07:04, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies

[edit]

Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of [unassessed articles] tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 21:15, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Request

[edit]

Hi Reedy Boy, the plugin is working great for WP:India. Infact many new sub projects have opened since you customised the plugin for us. Can I request you to have a look at the new subprojects and add them to the plugin? Thanks — Lost(talk) 12:39, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, an edit like that, ie just adding the extra bits, and then some check boxes would be quite easy to do. The only problem is, we are in a version that isnt fully compatible with the latest SVN, in the way that we cant save/load settings. I'll be able to add it into that version easily, but should be able to check out an old version from SVN, ie the 3.0.4.1 and update it.

Whatever way, i'll have a look for you =). Should be quite easy to do!! Reedy Boy 14:15, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, wonder how im going to fit 15 more check boxes on there... Maybe just do a tabsheet ont he page, then there can be 2 'pages' of selections Reedy Boy 18:29, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just one problem

Come to putting the actual parameters down, but Template:WP_India is out of date - ie it doesnt include the parameters i was adding from WP:India. If you could help clarify, it'd help =) Reedy Boy 20:23, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at Template:WP_India, and then WP:India#Project_organisation, the parameters dont match. Reedy Boy 09:25, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I may be going out on a limb here, but is it possible that his account is compromised? I asked him offline but I have to wait a while before I will get a response. It just seemed odd, that's all (also, I'm unusually paranoid). --vi5in[talk] 00:17, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP India

[edit]

Hi,

I can try to fix things, but reading the discussions, I am still clueless what needs to be done. Can you please specify how the template is broken and (possibly) what exactly should be there? — Ambuj Saxena () 07:07, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the parameters don't match. Because some of the projects like Trade are net developed enough to be assigned workgroups. Can't we make a plugin without those. Just trust the WP India template banner. — Ambuj Saxena () 14:16, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some help

[edit]

Hey! Usually Dipu and I work together on articles and he usually helps me out when there's trouble. Anyway, basically there is a problem at the Nair article. If you look at the edit history, you will notice that text is constantly being deleted. This is done by Anil4773 and also by Palattu Koman. The latter is starting to resort to personal attacks and has at least two other sock puppets. Essentially he objects to Nairs being called as "Savarna Sudras". As a result he has started vandalizing the Paliath Achan. The main reason being he's trying to get a rise out of me. I am a Nair and I am part of the Paliam family and so he thinks that if he vandalizes it and explicitly states that Paliath Achans are Sudras, I will "see the error of my ways". He has also made some rather POV and childish comments in the discussion section of the Nair article. His sockpuppets are most probably Konthunni Nair, Paliathu Suvarna Sudran Achan (an immature jab at me), and he also seems to edit anonymously from 59.93.196.149 and addresses in that range (59.93.222.119 being another one). Do you think you might be able to help me out, or at least point out what needs to be done next? Dipu was going to semi-protect the Nair article before he went AWOL. There is one more sockpuppet - Kundan Koothaattukulam. And I talked to Dipu, looks like he won't be back anytime soon :( --vi5in[talk] 17:45, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks anyway! I will try mediation. It seems to have died down a little bit now, but we'll see what happens. --vi5in[talk] 21:51, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi lost, there is one more article written by you in your earlier days which is A-Z copied from http://himachal.nic.in Kindly delete the article and inform me as soon as possible. Thanks --Sushant gupta 03:51, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have completed my work on economy of himachal. I have rearranged the whole slot of information, created the template and categorised the pages. Now I would be starting with the history of Himachal. Thanks Sushant gupta 06:04, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

R U sure because I checked the same content on other websites. There a lot of sentences or paragraphs in the article which are unchanged. Can we write the articles that way. I mean I waste almost 5 min. to write a stub just to ensure that it do not get deleted. If we can do this way then I can start up with many new topics. Thanks a lot, you reduced my work. Now I can nominate the page himachal pradesh very soon. Sushant gupta 07:13, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Compare this with your article written in your early days. Rajput period, anglo sikh period, mughal period and whole slot man. Umhhh... well if you won't mind may I write this article in sub parts like I usually do. You must be awared with my previous works like economy of himachal and many others. Thanks Sushant gupta 10:19, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look at this page also. I have rewritten this page.
Also take a look @ Education of Himachal Pradesh. I have written this just know. Thanks Sushant gupta 10:56, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey lost, check out my contribs. From 7th feb. to 11th March I was unlogged. Since, my exams are now over I can make out my time for Wikipedia. On 19th march my results would be coming. One more thing, you are the most kind administrator I have ever seen here on WP. You haven't blocked any user, not even single user. One more thing whenever my exams would be near kindly block me for that time period. Thanks Sushant gupta 13:43, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I need to be careful, you are not that kind. Actually by mistake I saw may block logs. I am idiot. Sushant gupta 13:52, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Till date you haven't even edited a sinle MediaWiki page, but you must be knowing that mediawiki pages are permanently protected pages which means they do contain some vital info. But this page is worthless. Don't you think. Thanks Sushant gupta 04:04, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Propol continues to vanalize my talk page

[edit]

This editor has taken upon him/her self to harasse me and bully me with peppering my talk pages with personal attack and accusation of being a sock puppet. It disappoints me that you do nothing and this empowers the bully to continue his bullying unabated.

Please do something about it.Danadasquare 08:20, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Firstly Thanks,
Hey lost if you don't mind may I restart with the history of HP. Well, let me be truthful. Actually HP is one of those states in India about which there are very few historical events. Thats why I wished to convert the page into a set of new articles. One more thing, I compared your full article with the webpage of the official website of HP. It is 80% copyrighted. Kindly tell me soon, I am eagerly waiting for HP fac. I have already prepared the draft. Thanks Sushant gupta 08:52, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Table not updating

Some assessment categories were accidentally deleted recently. That must have been the reason for this. I had to restore a couple of HP cats and ran the 1.0 bot manually. The bot's regular schedule is now every 2 days. The table is updated now. -- Ganeshk (talk) 03:29, 24 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
