Welcome![edit]

Hello, Rajsunder30, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions and creating Major asha ram tyagi.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Major asha ram tyagi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. I could not establish notability so I nominated the article for deletion. Ayub407talk 17:13, 25 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Rajsunder30 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.

If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia, but it is not a place like Facebook or LinkedIn for people to write about themselves. It is a quite different sort of site, a project to build an encyclopedia, so it is selective about subjects for articles, and writing about oneself is strongly discouraged, for reasons explained at Wikipedia is not about YOU and Wikipedia:Autobiography.

Wikipedia user pages are not like those at social-networking sites. Their use is explained at WP:NOTWEBHOST:

"Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they should be used primarily to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. Limited biographical information is allowed, but user pages should not function as personal webpages or be repositories for large amounts of material that is irrelevant to collaborating on Wikipedia. If you are looking to make a personal webpage or blog or to post your résumé, please make use of one of the many free providers on the Internet or any hosting included with your Internet account."

The links in the Welcome message at the top of this page will tell you more about Wikipedia. JohnCD (talk) 15:44, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

I am afraid your username is not acceptable. It seems from your note on my talk page that "Rajsunder" is the name of a person and also of an organization or website; but we do not allow Wikipedia accounts in the name of an organization (WP:GROUPNAME) - they are for individuals only - and as you are not Raj Sunder, you should not have an account in his name.

Please go to WP:Changing username and request a change to a name which will represent only you as an individual. A username of the form "Sachin at Rajsunder.in" would be acceptable, and would serve to declare your interest, which is necessary - please read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide.

I will reply about your deleted articles later today. JohnCD (talk) 11:48, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Saheed Major Asha Ram Tyagi[edit]

The article said that it was written "as per Information provided by Major Sahab’s Nephew", but the WP:Verifiability policy requires that "any material challenged or likely to be challenged must be attributed to a reliable, published source". Material from personal knowledge is not acceptable, because a reader should, in principle, be able to check what Wikipedia says.

Also, Wikipedia's test for inclusion, called Wikipedia:Notability, looks for references showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." For soldiers, there is a notability standard explained at WP:MILPEOPLE.

User:Rajsunder30[edit]

As explained above, a Wikipedia user page is for the individual contributor to say something about themself, if they choose, in the context of their Wikipedia work.

This material would not be suitable for an encyclopedia article, either, because:

  • There are no sources to verify what it says, or to establish WP:Notability.
  • It is written in an extremely promotional tone, and much of it seems to be Raj Sunder telling the world about himself and his views; but Wikipedia requires a WP:Neutral point of view: a description from outside, no opinions, only plain facts, neutrally stated and cited to reliable, published sources.
  • Since you work for Raj Sunder, you have a strong WP:Conflict of interest, and you should read that page and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In brief, you should not edit directly, because your COI makes it hard for you to be neutral, but if you wish you may submit a draft via Wikipedia:Articles for creation, to be reviewed by an uninvolved user.

If you want to do that, first read WP:Your first article, then collect independent, published references, and then write your draft based primarily on what they say. Keep a neutral tone, and do not use "peacock terms". JohnCD (talk) 21:49, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Formal warning about username[edit]

You have been advised to change your username above. Since you haven't changed it, I am providing you with a formal warning, which will lead to a block, if you do not change your username to comply with policy.

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Rajsunder30", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Jytdog (talk) 13:17, 30 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
