Autobiography warning

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself, at User:Rajeev Kathpalia (Official Account)/sandbox. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:15, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see you putting a lot of work intro trying to develop this draft. With all respect, the links that you provide in the draft are all useless, with the exception of one. The YouTube links are potentially problematic; see WP:YOUTUBE. The link to megamodelhunt makes no mention of Rajeev Kathpalia. This link goes to a login page of some kind, and again doesn't mention Rajeev Kathpalia. With this link, it says the content is unavailable. The only link here that is usable is The Telegraph. But, this is very insufficient to support an article about Rajeev Kathpalia. Please carefully review WP:NACTOR and Wikipedia:Notability#General_notability_guideline. What you have here so far does not come close to those standards.

Also, have you seen the warning above? You appear to be writing about yourself. This is strongly discouraged. Please respond. Thank you, --Hammersoft (talk) 16:13, 22 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Hammersoft: I've reported this username, as "Official" usernames usually suggest shared usage, and if this person is notable somehow it may also need to be blocked until their identity is confirmed. 331dot (talk) 11:45, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi all i am facing a problem please help me , I created Article of Rajeev Kathpalia Official Account

I'm not sure what problem you are having, but the very first thing you need to do is change your username. Usernames that contain "Official" are often used by a representative of the named person, and not the named person themselves. If you yourself are Rajeev Kathpalia, you should change your name to remove the "Official Account". If you are not Rajeev Kathpalia, you need change your name to remove their name. You can request a username change by filling out the form here. 331dot (talk) 11:59, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
After you do that, you should review the policy on autobiographies before further edits. While not forbidden, it is highly discouraged for users to write articles about themselves. If you are a representative, you should review conflict of interest and paid editing. 331dot (talk) 12:00, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot (talk) i requested my username changing form and is not yet aprroved.

It will take time for the request to be fulfilled. In the meantime you may wish to review some of the policies I have linked to above. 331dot (talk) 12:08, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

and also why this page pop up

- This article is an autobiography or has been extensively edited by the subject or by someone connected to the subject. It may need editing to conform to Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy. There may be relevant discussion on the talk page. (March 2017) (Learn how and when to remove this template message).
That has been placed on the page because given your username, it seems to be an autobiography, and it needs review by an uninvolved editor for neutrality and other issues before it can be removed. 331dot (talk) 12:11, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is a autobiography page (Rajeev Kathapalia,Bollywood Actor). So can you please reviewed it. i am new in the wikipedia.

Have you read the policy on autobiographies to learn why it is an issue for people to write about themselves? Imagine Narendra Modi or Barack Obama writing their own articles. 331dot (talk) 12:23, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rajeev Kathpalia, I am glad you are finally communicating with us. As I've stated previously, there is not enough to go on here to create an article. The _only_ source you have provided (and the only one my own searches have come up with) that is acceptable is this one. The other sources are either unreliable youtube and facebook pages, or pages that do not mention Rajeev Kathpalia. The article refers to "M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story" as an upcoming movie...but was released last year. The article claims Rajeev Kathpalia played a character called "Mihir" in the same movie, yet no source that I can find indicates there was any such character in the movie. Even if there was, it was so minor as to escape mention in any sources. There is simply almost nothing to go on here. I've pointed you previously to WP:NACTOR. Please tell us you have something more to support the notability of Rajeev Kathpalia. Thank you. --Hammersoft (talk) 13:09, 24 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
