Image Tagging Image:DSC 5541.JPG

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC 5541.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- Longhair 04:01, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:DSC 5580.JPG)

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:DSC 5580.JPG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 07:33, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Common Courtesy

[edit]

Hello.
I'm surprised that I have to explain this to you, but when people are discussing a topic, and trying to work out how to properly integrate it (ie. slingshots in paintball), deleting the entry entirely is downright rude.
Furthermore, cleaving apart carefully worded sections (eg. woodsball section) to entirely gut them, without the slightest bit of discussion, is similarly impolite. This is a free and open site, and everyone is entitled to edit articles, but such sweeping actions without the slightest regard for others can only lead to revert/edit wars.
I know the article needs a lot of work, but not even going so far as to announcing that you were doing to do a significant rewrite shows an absolute absence of concern for anyone else. To be blunt, wikipedia thrives when all users feel free to contribute, but fails entirely when one person behaves like the sole owner of content.

Hello. Will you please stop reverting edits back and forth without introducing anything new? It really must make it hard for others to track the real edits if they have to sift through a page of back-and-forthing. Bladestorm 05:33, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Raehl, I'm the one that added that history content to the paintball page. I understand if you need to remove it because it violates copyright, but is it not enough that I cited the source? Its just a shame because I figured that the article was missing a good history section. --Donutmonger 21:10, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the copyright clarification. I didn't literally "cut and paste" the content in that section, though some of it does read close to what was actually in the source. I'll go through it later and de-plagarize the information. --Donutmonger 22:26, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Raehl, you have received this notice because you have placed your name on the list of members of WikiProject Paintball. We are currently looking to make the wikiproject more active, and in doing so, we need to have a list of active members on the wikiproject. If you wish to stay an active part of wikiproject Paintball, please add your username to Active users. Conversely, if you wish to leave the wikiproject, please remove your name from the list of members at Wikipedia:WikiProject Paintball. Thank you.

Hello - I have tagged an image you uploaded, File_talk:TyvekExpressMailEnvelope.jpg, as currently having an incorrect license. My reasoning is in the talk page. In summary, the image is owned by the US Postal Service, since the principal feature of the photo is a USPS copywrited design. If you know what license this should be under, please feel free to change the licensing information section. Mamyles (talk) 22:16, 13 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
